I put an RE SS in my 06 after like a month of having the car. I managed to not break the socket cup when removing the stock shifter. But others may or may not depending on how they handle it. But the shifter itself is phenomenal! Yes you will feel the notchiness a bit more because its a shorter shift length and force angle, but it def gives a more performance oriented feel. The shifts are solid and you can feel each gate. Def worthwhile to have when redlining thru the gears. But I also put an aftermarket shift **** that was countersunk to drop the shift length even more. The lower you go the more notchiness you will feel, but the quicker and more precise the shift becomes. Now my car has a crazy low throw but i love it for my car. But I havent really heard of voiding any warranty because of it. I guess if you bend or snap the transmission linkage with the install then yea i could see it being voided.
