Dealership scratched my rim

I took my car to Infiniti of Mission Viejo to fix my window leak, window regulator, and to take off the old wheel lock since I lost the key. The dealership had an extra wheel lock key, but I wanted a new set since they did not give me a registration number. Some mechanic went a little crazy with the impact gun and made a 4.5 inch scratch on the center of my iforged wheel. I pointed it out to the service manager and he said he'll take car of it for me next week. I guess they have a person that specifically fixes wheels for them, but I'm worried since my wheels are aftermarket with clear coat, how are they going to fix them without redoing the clear coat? It looks exactly like someone keying a car and went through the clear coat. Should I trust the dealer to take car of this? I'm glad infiniti of MV is going to take care of this, but it sucks that I have to come in late to work for this.

Let them take care of it. If something goes wrong or if it still doesn't look right, make them buy u a new wheel, since it was their fault.

Looks bad bro, and who put all the little scratches on the wheel to the left and above the locking nut? Looks like damage to the clearcoat too from overbuffing.
Let them fix it, and if it's not good enough for you then tell them you want a new one.

oh man,
those are a nice set of rims too! I would also say let them take care of it and if they mess up again they have to buy you a new rim.

Re: Dealership scratched my rim

They are gonna try to fix it by taking it to a rim repair shop. But they will need all 4 rims to do this because they have to make sure they all match.

The dealership scratched one of my rims about 4 weeks ago. I told them that there is no shop that will be able to repair this since you can't just fill it in. They said they can, so they had 2 shops look at the 4 inch scuff they made on the lip. Well, like I said, the shops could not repair it, so they ordered me a new one to replaced the scratched one. I will take about 2~3 months but I got a new rim out of it.

- Don't argue with idiots. They will bring you down to their level and beat you with experience.=P-

Re: Dealership scratched my rim

Dealers are full of BS. Their service is good, but shity-*** mechanics. Thats why I tried not to take my coupe to the dealer, if i can take care problems myself... ill do it by myself. No there no better job then u work on it yourself. If i really have to take it to the dealer then ill put my stock 18's on, and let them fucl< with those...
