LMAO!!! Just tune your VQ, it's much easier and cost effective than swapping in a less powerful motor and then tuning it.

Stand alone and piggie backs are two completly different things.

Theirs a guy in Florida that does a full install with engine and everything for like 16 grand. I don't personal know him but Ive watched a video he put out about it.

piggy back is an add on to the ecu where air and fuel can be adjusted, and I believe some are able to change timing

stand alone is a separate unit from the ecu which takes full controls of engine management. the stock ecu would only control the comfort settings, things like the air controls, lights, things like that.

i don't think a turbo is going to add 200 pounds to your curb weight, plus infiniti doesn't built engines. Open you hood, it says NISSAN.

Did you even read the link I provided???? And what does adding turbos (that doesn't come near 200lbs) have to do with anything?

You know what? The 427 Hemi is also a legend. But I don't want that lump of iron in my car.

Um Infiniti didn't make that motor. Nissan did

2JZ?? Great motor but just as heavy and just as long.

I'm currently looking into swapping an rb26 into my 240, and let me tell you, the cost of the engine alone is expensive. Plus the trans can't be used since its awd, so either an rb25 trans, or some special adaptor will need to be made to connect the g35 5 speed to the rb. For the money of buying just the stock rb26 engine you can purchase a TT kit for the VQ. Plus taking into consideration all the fabrication work, unforeseen odds and ends that will be required to drop an rb26 in, I'm sure the cost of building up, putting a TT, and getting a good tune for the VQ will cost way less and probably be a little more reliable with a lot less headaches along the way.

But, if you have a lot of extra money to burn, and have a second car to drive while the G is down, then go for it... this is just my take on it.
