So I have this dream (im not rich but maybe one day)
To swap out our engine and put in a RB26DETT for those that dont know what it is ( http://www.meggala.com/nissanrb3.html )
I want to do this one day if reasonably possible and i dont have mills to spend lol so I want the drop to be fairly easy ( no body sculpting are major cutting)

Does anyone know anyone that has done this ? Does it fit our tranny or do we need to swap that too ?
I heard it can fit in our engine bay is that true ?

Does anyone have any cool links of anyone that has done this ?

Well as much as i like the VQ i am more in love with our design and flavor of our car,

the rb26dett also has a lot of sentimental flavor with me, I was really poor most of my life (foster care) I didnt even own a car till i was 20, (I am now 25 I took the bus everyday, doing school and saving.
There was this kid my age whose dad bought him a R33 that made me envy him and his car lol who lived right next to me for 2 years !! he was using that as i took the bus. I used to play GT2 and 3 at night and i Had my R34 rb26dett skyline, was kinda my fantasy ya know to own that sick of a car, and i would drive it in game and wish i could afford it lol

Well now I make money and as much as i like the skylines I like our G's look way better and i want my G to be a TRUE skyline, so I kinda want to replace my engine with a true skyline engine, Then i would be willing to badge my car SKYLINE :P

But I dont want to ruin my car I want to do it right,
I have thought about and i decided if i am going to do it then i should go with the rb26dett, do it right ya know

 

i think it would be better just to build up your engine and TT it... like others have siad, why would u want an older engine?

i also think it would be amazing i someone could somehow make the G coupe AWD

 

Ya i was thinking about TT it, I am interested in what type of numbers people are getting, if i was to do that I would def rebuild the VQ ( i am not very confident of the VQ hardiness lol ) But your right the fact the rb26dett isnt made any more concerns me, something goes out itll take me a month to just order it probably

just TT you VQ, get a good stand alone and a great tune, you'll be good to go

 

sometimes i dont have the lingo or mechanic knowledge, what do you mean by "stand alone" ?
