Anyone ELSE with this problem???
I have an 05' 6MTCoupe with everything but Nav. About 12K miles into my ownership of my car I notice that the front tires started making quite a racket at low speeds. I took it into the dealership and they said that they fixed it and that the noise would subside soon. It didn't. I took it back to the dealership a few thousand miles later for scheduled service and told them that my problem persists and now it is time for a new set of fronts because the inboard sides of my tires were cupped and worn out and the rest of the tire had several thousand more miles left on them. They said that it was a engineering problem common to ALL G coupes with the 19's and it could not be corrected. They said once I purchased a new set of tires that they would re-align it for me for free. I am kinda' psst about this because I don't want spend another $600 for two tires that will not last 20k before they feel like my teeth are going to rattle out of my head. Very upset. Not real sure why I don't see this topic on all of the boards. Anyone?

The tires are def going to wear more on the inside due to the negative camber that comes with the car. If you dont know what that means...its basically means that the tire is more at an angle like such - / - it is there for handleing. All of the G coupes and i think sedans come stock like these. So if you have 17" , 18" , or 19" rims its going to wear the same. If you lower your car more the more it will wear the tires. Hopefully we are talking about the same thing.

We are, it just amazes me that they would do such a drastic camber angle on a car meant for the street. The average G owner doesn't auto cross or track their car. I drive mine on the interstate almost 9 out of 10 miles that are on my odometer. Usually that allows for MORE tire mileage. I guess not. I don't have a problem shelling out the $677 for the rear ones when i KNOW what causes them to become slick. But when driving up and down the road and not abusing the car cost me an additional $575 every 20K miles I have heartburn.

You gotta pay to play brotha' a 40k car does not have upkeep like a 10k econobox. Premium gas, more tire changes, these are just regular costs that come w/ a performance-orientated car. You could always change the camber angle and get worse handling characteristics and slightly better tread life I guess if u want.

You cant rotate the tires on a coupe. I feel your pain though you figure you pay 30+ on a 45k car and tire wear shouldn't be a problem, the radio shouldn't be a problem, the noisy trany on the 6mt shouldn''t be a problem but sometimes I think about it and look at other cars (IE the Audi's) and say to myself would I rather be paying for tires or to have an electrical job done.

Other than the width differences, 'could' you put a rear tire on the front?
I ask the question only because I never jacked up the car to try it. Is the center hub different from front to back? Or would the rim fit the hub, in spite of the width difference?
Was thinking of getting 2 more OEM rims like the rears to put on the front so they could be rotated, or buying a set of new rims all the same width, again so they could be rotated every 5k or so.
Thanks

There are some posts, and I am in the same place and of the same opinion as you are brother. But there are just too many people who think this is acceptable. Here is my last post.https://g35driver.com/forums/wheels-tires/136191-more-tire-wear-issues.html
