LOL!!!!!!!!!!

There are about 2 things you shouldn't do in those instructions.

But do me a favor, I've heard the distrubutor is back near the tranny. Take a look and see if you can find it. j/k

Quote: I haven't done this yet so I don't know how easy it is on our cars, but on many you can do this with a timing light and a wrench. I looked for a DIY for this for our cars and couldn't find one. This is all I found:

Quote: Not sure if Cipher has THAT level of tune yet. But the current (as I know it) only has some of the Nissan Consult access and all OBDII accessability.

couple people on my350z have cipher and state that its able to advance timing +-2 degrees.

Yes I'm aware. I was commenting on the level of tuning as compared to the other units that were mentioned (in the quote).

My autoenguinity OBDII scan tool w/ Nissan enhanced will do this also

Okay that is correct as 2 deg won't really do much unless he's already running lean and it's dead of summer.

Not sure what this means.
1) Timing advance benefits everyone (mods or not)
2) timing advance won't do anything to "equal the fuel with the extra air..."

You migth be able to READ the timing using a light (that is if you can get a reading off the low voltage SIGNAL to the coil pack). But there's no way in hell you can alter the timing using a timing light and a wrench.

If your going to bump up timing I would think you would want scans as a
base line to see the effects.

Knock retard can be your worse nightmare if not watched. Mods won't mean
much if you always have k/r issues.

Because this mod is a consult based mod and since the +/- timing isn't that great, I'll guess that 2 deg is pretty safe for 90% of the guys here.

I could run some scans that show what my KS is doing. I assume I can access it on my scan tool. Same with the timing curves. Smooth = good. Choppy = timing pull

they are advancing the timing to +2 like 6spG said & its supposed to be safe as long as you use 93 Octane & not FI
result improving HP & Torque
im not sure but i dont think it voids warrantee either, i need to read a little more on it.
....patiently waiting on the experts to bless us with their Infinite knowledge, i mean Infiniti knowledge

Once again, the question I have is .... Anyone in Houston have a cipher and willing to do the +2 timing. I am very interested. My friend just did it, and said that he felt the difference, even though it was only 4hp. Well write back or just email me at oneal.mistry@gmail.com

Thanks guys

i had +2 done on my car not even the second month i owned it...i cant say that made the car a beast or anything, but at times it def felt like it was running more aggresive. The injen cai would hit the peak sound it makes quicker then usual. And i know it wasnt just me cuz for about a week and a half i was wondering why my car felt like this then realized i had it done.

dont get me wrong either you arent going to break any records with this done at all what so ever...but every little bit helps.
