^Actually hero, he has 5%, I got metered on my 5% and it read out 2% also, the meters read out 3% darker than your tint really is. This wouldn't matter on say 5% but i would be pissed if I had like 25% and it read out 22% and they wrote me a ticket.
AS for the guy who got the ticket...you are lucky! My F'ing ticket was $130. I turned into a gas station, the cop passed and took the next entrance in and was like sir can you crack your window for me and I was like DAMMMIT!!

^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^

Should have told him no, it's broken. But then again all you have to do is open the door and they can slide it right over the window. damnit.

I'm going to put some black tape on the inside of my window, it's so dark you won't be able to tell but when he slides the machine over it....reading comes out and says 0%, hahahaha, then i can just say..."guess your machine is broken"

WTF's wrong with the law? You should be asking WTF's wrong with your dad. The law didn't do anything that your dad didn't allow them to do.

LMFAO. Great parent. Gets his kid put on probation for 90 days. American values personified.

Well then you guys explain to me why it makes sense to ticket someone who is borrowing a car that does not have a front plate when the person who owns it has been pulled over a few times but never given a ticket for that.

Then tell me how i get a deferred adjudication for a non-moving violation...of all the people i have told you are the first to understand the reasoning behind this.

Not to be a dick, but you asked.

What I understand is you broke the law. Period. You invited the cop to visit you, and he took a dump on your carpet. It happens.

If I'm driving a friends car and he has a pound of weed under the seat, I'm getting busted. "But it's my dad's weed" doesn't mean squat.

Some cops will write tickets, others will let it slide. You got popped by one that chose to write a ticket. Maybe he hated 'vettes. Maybe he hated young guys who drive 'vettes. Maybe he's one of the cops that pulled your dad over and saw that your dad had blown off his warning and decided to make you pay for it. Who knows?

When you go in front of the judge, maybe the cop has provided the judge with a copy of the warning tickets or pullovers related to the car in question. Maybe the judge sees that your father has chosen not to take advantage of the good fortune he's been afforded in the past and decides to make you pay. There's no telling.

The point is that you didn't have a front plate and the law required you to have one. You played and lost. It CERTAINLY isn't the cop's fault, he only did what your FATHER let him do.

Get it?

I keep telling you young guys that the best way to not get hassled by a cop is to follow the rules. If you choose to do otherwise, don't be alarmed or blame the cops when things don't go your way.

It doesn't get any easier than that.

a long time ago a cop made me peel off some of the tint on the windshield so that it would all have to come off or he would tow the car

Geewillikers...Well aside from the pound of weed thing(not a fair comparison in my opinion) your post really made me think about it a different way, can't argue with any of it. I just wish that i didn't know that my dad was never told anything about not having a front plate, maybe i could feel better about both the judge and the officer wanting to make me pay b/c my dad didn't want a front plate on his car.
