Another tint ticket

Pulled over last night for rolling thruogh stop sign. I rolled down windows so cop coulden't see tint and also as a curtasey for the cop. He already had his meter out and measured 2%. Legal in Florida is 25%. It is a pain to see at night with 2% but it sure looks good on a black car. I'm torn between scraping and making legal or just paying the ticket every few months. I normally get warnings for tint but this time was a $75 ticket which is still better than the stop sign for $200 and points. Cop was cool, i didn't have drivers lisense, registration or insurance card with me, and only got tint ticket, can't complain.

yea when i got my tints i got 20% on DG. in maryland legal is 35. but depending on how **** the cops are about stopping you, get lighter tints. 2% is kinda unsafe imo. besides from about 20% less, the tint looks good on black and you cant even tell the difference! you're still gonna be riding ghost!!

I agree that 2 is a little unsafe at night. With the driver windows at 20 and the rear and side corners at 2, which is legal, I think it will still look good. It just sucks to have to scrape and replace perfectly good tint, but I guess its better than having the cops harassing me.

Port Orange, near Daytona Beach. I bought the car with 3000 miles on it with the tint already on it from dealership.

so he didn't have any of your information? doesn't it have to be written on the ticket? That's a cool cop, he didn't give you a ticket for driving without your license.

i recently put 20% tint on my CB coupe, i would have liked it to be a little darker. Legal limit here in Ct is 35%, but its nice i like it.

Just gave name, birth date, address, height, model and make of car. They call in to verify. No ticket for not having lisence. I'v got them before, its like 5 bucks and you have to go to courthouse and show it. Insurance card same way. The cops around here are alright. You give them respect and they give it back for the most part. There ARE exceptions. They have a crummy a job and have to deal with scum bags all day. I have to give them credit.

How do you not have your license on you? I never get in the car unless I have my license, and my insurance card is kept in the card.

I have 5% on the back and sides and 20% on the windshield...can't see out the back at night but sides are fine and the front is no problem, i really don't even notice it. Oh yeah, 35% is the limit here also. I'll just pay the ticket and leave it there, unless the cops hands me a razor and makes me remove it right there or takes a chunk out(which i have heard of happening)...if that happens i will just get it re-done...it looks too good and keeps the temps down in the summer.

(I can see cars and stuff behind me at night but can't back up, i have to roll the window down and look out or open the door)
