These routine services are getting really expensive in these days!! I guess this is another way to get their money back from us. I'd ask for that service check list to see what are things they replace or inspect on my car as well as the price quote for each service interval. In that case, I would tell is it overcharged or not!!

Cool $189 for throttle body @ 30k, I think not

I had a 30k service completed this weekend @ Beaverton Infiniti, it was ~$500. The 30k service list they printed out for me included a $189 throttle body service. I said "your going to do what?!" So they did not do that, nor replace the belts (good till 60k), in cabin filet (diy), engine air filter (see sig), wiper inserts...and some other useless crap. I did have them flush the engine coolant, change the brake fluid, engine oil (m1 syn which doesn't seem to be the best anymore...), lube the doors including the sun roof etc and inspect, inspect and inspect. In addition to this I got a call midway through the service and was advised that I have 3mm left on my front brembos. They quoted me $420 for JUST the fronts I said thanks for the info and ordered a set of Project mu's @ mynismo and will either diy or take it to firestone or whichever shop is competent. If I would have done the complete 30k service with out changing anything on the service list, it would have been ~$1000. I guess I got out with 1/2 a un-lubed pole up my ****

Seem like we all need to know a bit about what go in and out of our car before bring it to the dealer. Just in case they would think we dont know ***t about the car. New G drivers would feel cool and fun but a year or two years down the road, yes, still have fun but now you would have some costly experiences with the service. Enjoy while you can, you pay for it :-)

Is there a DIY posted on the Rear Diff and Manual Trans flush? I have all the fluids. Tried to do it once and the drain plug on both the Rear diff and the trans was a weird one that I hadn't seen before. Needless to say, I had no tool that would fit it.

Buy a cabin filter for $30 at kragen and replace it yourself using the FSM as a guide.

You win. See you in 30,000 miles.

That's the way to do it for cheap!
Do you think a tranny shop does differential service too?

This is an excerpt from the ESM for earlier models.
Not sure if this is PD, if not then I'll delete it.
Hope it helps some out.

I have to give some kudos to my dealership. Took my 05 sedan in for warranty work (squeaky door) and also asked them to do the 30k checks (I had already changed the fluids/filters myself) figuring I would pay for half an hour or so of labor. To my delight, they said there would be no charge. So, I spent the day tooling around in an 07 G35x. Upon return, the door didn't squeak anymore and they found a nail in my tire which they plugged (for free, also). Not too bad, considering I didn't even buy my car there.
