6 spd coupe top speed only 140 ??

I took my car to a track, and wanted to reach top speed, well it seemed like when i hit 140 i was limited like my engine had plenty of power but i wasnt getting any more fuel or something

Do we have a limiter at that speed ? Can i remove it ?

(i did a search but only found info on sedans )

Isn't the top speed achieved in 5th gear, rather than 6th anyway?

the intake valve begins to close around 140, to achieve top speed, it takes a whole lot longer than going from 130-140. A chip will fix this.

Just get an ECU re-Flash. Most ECU flashes remove the speed limiter and if you have an older G, like an 03 or 04, it raises your redline to 7100 RPM. If you search you can probably find a couple of places that re-flash our ECUs. I had mine done at Altered Atmosphere.

How much do the machines cost to reflash the ECU. Seems awful expensive just to get it flashed at a shop.

even tho i drive an auto, i still had my car up to 154mph, and i felt like i could go 160 mph,

but as for the limiter, if u stomp the gas, ur cars comp will limit the flow of the fuel, so i only psuhed it 3/4 of the way to i still got fuel, if u want a quick fix try the technosquare ecu, the elimiate this feature in ur car and up the fuel radio to ur engine and also changes alot of other stuff

the stock ecu sucks cause the harder u hit the gas and higher the rpms are the less fuel goes to ur engine =0(

^Sorry but I don't believe it. I got mine on a downhill slope on the interstate and it wouldn't do over 143ish. I also have a Ztube and plenum spacer.

Someone needs to take a pic of their car doing above 150 and I'll believe it haha. I agree with it still has enough to keep it going though. I hate limiters
