Interesting thread from the Sedan forum
Re: Interesting thread from the Sedan forum
The original subject of the thread was "if anyone who purchased a sedan had any regrets and wished they got a coupe". Then, dragonboy puts in his $.98 about how the coupe is far superior than the sedan, and the sedan is an Altima on steroids, unlike the coupe (which, by the way, is the same car missing 2 doors) which is a more expensive 350Z.
My question is: does he even own a G35? or, like the M5, is this just all a dream?

Re: Interesting thread from the Sedan forum
Looks are not judged on majority- that's a fallacy...They are truly subjective...Those who feel that looks are based on majority are followers and easy to lead...The same people that decide certain celebrities are the ones to "worship" and that other people are easily and justifiably disregarded...Those types of people do what they are told to do and let others make their decisions for them...It's really quite easy to do with the majority of people...The kind of people I destroyed during negotiations...Sure, there are some features males and females are respectively naturally inclined to find attractive, but that doesn't quite carry over universally into vehicles or other inanimate objects...I've said it before and I'll say it again: did you make your purchase for yourself or to impress others? Because all these arguments do is justify a personal decision...If you bought it for yourself then it doesn't matter what someone says about your purchase, and it shouldn't necessitate justification...If I don't like your car should it matter to you? When someone doesn't like my ride or my choice in mods I laugh and walk away...You can try to lace your post with all the glib remarks you can cram into it, and toss in all the "in my opinion" defenses you like, a hostile post is a hostile post...Throwing in comments along the likes of "saying the sedan has better looks is insanity" and that the sedan is a "nicer Altima" is a deliberate attempt to perpetuate the argument and use passive aggressive tactics...I don't care why one other person here bought their ride...And I love how some owners have decided that the coupe has supercar looks, but the sedan is boring...That's not a realistic statement and only serves to alienate the sedan as boring once again...Also, choosing to use the 350Z for the coupe comparison and the Altima for the sedan comparison, while logical and supported by Nissan's current line-up, only serves to further attack (passive aggressively) the sedan owners once again...I'll put it to you all again: did you all buy these cars for yourselves or everyone else? And after that has been mulled over, which should only take a second unless you need someone to tell you how to answer that question, who cares why you bought it?

I don't know about you, but I bought my sedan because it looks better than that weird two-door thingy...

Juuuuuuuust kidding. Everyone got them for our own reasons, and to essentially tell people that their final decision is an unjustifiable one is only mildly offensive to those of us who RESEARCHED every car in the field, DROVE the S4, DROVE the 330s, DROVE the TL-S, DROVE the IS and ES 300s, DROVE the S60s, and STILL landed on the G35 sedan as a choice, even when price wasn't an option. Just my two cents-- I try to hold it in and be impartial, but every so often it helps to let people know how you really feel in hopes of stimulating productive discourse. I love the coupe, I love the sedan... I just love the sedan more for some of its practical tendencies at this point in my life. No love lost.

Re: Interesting thread from the Sedan forum
I think we all know what happens when this forum attempts PRODUCTIVE discourse...We go from carefully composed thoughts to arguments that make Beavis and Butthead look like mature adults...And I can overlook bad grammar and incorrect spelling...However, the way a person communicates, fairly or unfairly (I think fairly), gives an impression of education and intelligence...So sometimes people on this forum start attacking that as well and therefore further the hostile posts...Am I guilty of doing that sometimes and getting overly aggressive? Of course, and we all know that, so I'm not excluding myself...When I first joined this forum we had some great debates and mostly just great input when questions were posted...Now we attack age, transmission choice, body choice...I know we have some very intelligent members on this forum, but it seems that they either stay out of most debates now or use that intelligence to cleverly camouflage hostile posts
As far as justifying a purchasing decision, of course that's alright, and as humans we like to do so and be accepted for the choice we've made...I'm simply saying that currently, on this forum (I use forum collectively because we shouldn't be separating ourselves into groups here), people get attacked for their decisions and the debate turns angry and moves away from the discussion...And I really don't believe that any of us needs to "justify" - that makes it seem like we are unsure and didn't make our decision for ourselves

Re: Interesting thread from the Sedan forum
haha wow. another one of these productive debates. i just think people are running out of things to talk about.
like SnM said, i don't think that sedan thread was started to "justify a purchase." i think a lot of us (minus those poor people with the TSBs from hell) were very confident with our choices. now perhaps we can accept/respect that we are all proud of our G35s, no matter how many doors it's got.
hehe zorro... at least now you know that we sedan people take peeks into the coupe forum as well.

G35Girl, who invited you here anyway
. You want to be part of the two door beauty forum? Hey maybe when you decide to stop convincing yourself of a wrong choice, you can be member of the coupe forum
. I am just kidding - please don't take me the wrong way.
I wish I never started this thread about the thread in the sedan forum, in the first place. I should have known better. Once again, my apologies about starting this forum. It looks like everyone missed my original point, but who cares about it now anyway.
Peace to all.

dragoncoupe... haha yeah i saw the thread, but skimmed it b/c i can't deal with really long posts. but, c'mon it's the internet and there will always be haters and doubters. i mean, yeah, you posted a pic of your datsun and g35 but, they can still say you don't have one and you're jacking a pic of your friend's/neighbor's/whoever's car. my point is, just don't let the little stuff get to you. save your time and this forum's bandwith for other fun things. the last thing we need is more G vs G on this forum. I agree G35Gnome. Although Dragon always seems to have such well thought out and well articulated arguments, he so very often completely misses the mark. I thought this was G35Driver.com not G35Coupe.com.

Does the Altima look anything like the 350z or Gcoupe for that matter?
It is obvious that the Gcoupe is a nicer 350z and the Gsedan is a nicer Altima. You can compare body structures between the two cars; match up the elements. To deny this would be pointless.

Both the G35 Coupe and Sedan are built on the same platform as the 350Z. So, strangely enough, is the FX35. The Altima is not, nor is any other current Nissan product. The Altima does, however, have the same engine as the G35 Sedan. And the G35 Coupe, and the 350Z. And their friggin' minivan, while we're at it. But I think the engine is mounted a bit differently for a RWD car than a FWD car. Hence you can use most mods fitted for the 350Z's engine compartment on the G35 Sedan. As for power, I find the numbers a little fishy. I doubt the Coupe is exactly 280 and the Sedan is exactly 260 (and the new TL is exactly 270, etc). So I think it's clear that the Sedan has more in common with the Coupe and 350Z mechanically than it does any other car, Altima included. The only place it might resemble an Altima is in electronics. I suspect the horsepower difference is primarily computer-driven, and we know the "manumatic" is detuned to underperform the Coupe. But again, the Sedan is rear-drive, FM-platformed, and VQ35-powered. The only other cars with those specs are the 350Z, G35 Coupe, and base FX35.
It's clearly not a nicer Altima. We already have a nicer Altima. It's called the I35.

Re: Interesting thread from the Sedan forum
Guys, anybody notice that this type of debate mostly happens in the coupe forum ??.... honestly I cant recall one like that in the sedan forum, although I dont frequent it often. Anyway as far as the age comment (dragonCoupe) all I meant by it is that those perticular comments showed his age, not that its a bad thing, I could care less how old he is, damn I wish I had a car like this when I was his age, more power to him! enjoy it kid
. And anybody that knows me will tell that age difference means nothing to me, most of my true friedns are way older than me, so why would I pick on a youngin like myself (in comparison) ? SnM you one smart guy, I agree with you completelly. Lets stop the usless debates and get back to how this forum was a couple of months back. I for one could be found guilty for many counts, so Ill start with myslef .... although it will be tough not to throw out a smart a$$ sarcastic comment. Later Gs.

Re: Interesting thread from the Sedan forum
Gordee,
How can you call me ignorant if I think the sedan looks like an altima? You can not make your point with out calling people names? That is called the phallacy of ad Homin, look it up. I think the sedan is ugly and the coupe beautiful. What are u gonna do call me names? Stop getting your self worth from your car.
