Just got KEYED Arrrrrrrrrrrrgh
Went out to South Coast Plaza in Costa Mesa earlier today to go shopping with my wife, spent about four hours at the mall shopping and hanging out. Walked back out to the car and drove home. No big whoop. Pulled into the garage tonight and when I walked behind it I noticed a HUGE scratch put into my bumper right down to the body. So I look up and noticed they scratched a HUGE X into the G35 badge and then proceeded to put a huge scratch on my hood, and all my wheel panels. Oddly enough they didn't do the doors. The best part is I always park in the back so people don't ding my car...it obviously just gives them time to carve Xs into it. I'm taking a guess now it will have to be entirely repainted. **** like this makes me not even want to do anything nice to my car
My wife called the mall and complained but they seriously didn't care...total bummout.

Man that sucks. sorry to hear that. my mustang got keyed a few years back. The people keyed like 17 cars in the neighborhood. all of them got it down the side facing the street. thats about the time i lost interest in it. the key mark is still on it from front to back. Its the worst feeling in the world cause there is nothing you can do about it

Stop parking out in the back. It is drawing too much attention. When you park in the back or away from everyone else, it is pretty much saying you are paranoid to beginwith, and gives people with **** to do something to key.
Find a good body shop. Repaints rarely come out to factory finish.

The only somewhat redeeming factor is I have a brilliant silver car so the scratches aren't that noticeable. It was real dark when I came out so I didn't even notice it until I came home. Ugh, I'm too bummed to take pics.

Pay your $500 deductible and get the whole car repainted.
I got keyed about a month ago and I know how you feel. I was on a main street in Boston, and some arsehole keyed my hood for no reason. They're just jealous of nice, shiny clean-looking cars.

Sorry to hear man...bummer!
Take it to a really good detail shop or a body shop that details well, and see how much of it may be able to be buffed out...you never know! I know a really great car wash, where almost everyone in the detail dept. works at great body shops during the week. I have seen them color sand, touch up, then re-toucvh up a few hours later...lightly color sand an buff again...and the scratch is GONE.
It's all technique...that one scratch was pretty deep, and about 3ft long too!
I think it only cost the guy about $200 - and included a full detail inside and out...
