Did any of u get this?

When i got my car yesterday, the dealer gave me a brochure for something called "R.O.A.D. In Tire Repair or Replacement". Its some kind of insurance thing for tires. Its insurance for blowouts, pot holes, glass, metal, and nails. They have 24 hour roadside assistance and they will completely replace tire and wheel if damaged. Have any of you tried this service? Is it legit or is there a catch? Any info would be great...thanks

No I didn't get that but I could have bought tire insurance for my new tires that don't have 'Road Hazzard' warranty.
I declined but I've always wondered why the original tires on your car never have R/H warranty. Only the replacements do.

When I purchased my ride, the dealership offered various "packages"....one of which was a wheel and tire warranty. I declined because I'm not a big fan of extended warranties...and I didn't agree with the cost for such a warranty.

I took that tire insurance when I got my car. I'm not a big fan of those extended warranties either, but it only came out to a dollar more per month on my payments. I figured if I get a blowout just one time and they replace the tire and rim then its more than paid for itself.

Re: Did any of u get this?

My dealer did not sell me any such warranty. But when I learned about how expensive the Michelin Pilots were, I bought a 3 year policy from Grubbs for $195. The policy more than paid for itself when I got a screw in one of the tires that needed to be replaced ($290). It covers OEM *and* replacements tires for 3 years. It's a no brainer if you have Michelin Pilots on your coupe.

Re: Did any of u get this?

sup cold, i just stopped by infiniti yesterday and put a deposit down for my car to start all the paperwork. one of the packages she offered me was a tire and wheel package that does what you explain, price was like 650 or something. too much for me. from what she had showed me, our rims and tires supposedly cost A LOT just for one. sounded a little too expensive for me and of my 4-5 years of driving EVERYDAY, i haven't had a flat tire or any problems in that area so i just turned it down. either way, if i happened to need a new rim/tire, i'll probably just buy a new set of rims/tires.
she also offered me a package for this paint protectant.
it protects my car from bird crap, tree sap, n all that stuff. its got a 5 year warranty. if something happens to the paint, the warranty covers a free paint job on the car. that was around 375. i'm getting a black 6mt so i think it'll come in handy in the future.

Too bad they won't let you pick a different type of tires.. So I would pop my Pilots on purpose and get some Bridgestone SO3's. =)

Re: Did any of u get this?

I paid $300 for 5 year coverage on my wheels and tires. I figured it wasn't too much, and would be worth it if my rims got scratched or dinged...which isn't all that unlikely considering their profile.

Re: Did any of u get this?

yea it was $500 for 4-5 years but that was for outside and inside. knowing me, my inside will be VERY clean for a while. as for my outside, i can't control what hits it and what doesn't. i told them just the outside and it was only $100 less than out and in. Maybe i'll get both, i still have a little time to reconsider.
