Double Din Pricing: is this too much?

went to 2 places today to see what they had to offer as far as in dash Nav/stereo/DVD players and heres my experience thus far:

1st place (Wireless World on Blossom Hill/Winfield San Jose, CA)
the guy was confused by the fact that the stereo controls and climate was all in 1 panel and took down my phone number/name and said hed call me.
note: this obviously means hes never done this before on a G and i dont wanna be his guinea pig. next.

2nd place: (auto sound & security on Capital Expressway San Jose, CA)
this guy was off to an awesome start by owning a custom painted slammed R34 Skyline (it was parked out front, ill take pics when its not raining) and says he has worked on alot of G's and showed pictures of his work (looked nice!)

sooo we moved on to pricing and such, long story short i was quoted: $2,097 for the following:
1,499 -Eclipse Double Din Head unit (2 disk drives so u can nav/listen to CD at same time, forgot screen size... touch screen...)
499- "dash kit" & A/C. he said when you pull out the stock stereo on a american G and go aftermarket, you need this extra piece so that your climate control still works. (true?)
and last but not least, a modest and what seems really good $99 for labor.

totaling 2097.

thoughts?

you can get the finisher (dash kit) and ac controller for less than $300. hit up tony at riverside infiniti and se if he has any in stock. $99 for install is a pretty good deal.

you cannot buy off that site they don't have online ordering

but the price they gave you seems fair except for the price he's charging for the a/c controller and double din finisher. I would buy the parts myself then buy the AVN off him and let him install it

let us know what you decide to do!!

Good price nonetheless. Bet you when you go in with your own pieces, he raises the install price.

The whole thing seems fair except for the ridiculous markup on the double-din conversion parts. But, the fact that he is only charging $99 makes up for it IMO. If I was in your position, I would let the guy do it as quoted.
