has anyone made the stock rim black and put a thin red lip around it? i remember a thread about this with like stock rims being all different colors. please post pics.

I like it if your car is that dark cherry red, not the stock red

 

Time Attacks have a protruding lip that is painted red though, none of the OEM wheels have this protruding lip so it won't look the same, and its going to be hard to find a painter to get an even line all the way around the wheel, most likely will require an experienced pinstriper to do it. I still think it will look retarded, but thats just IMO

well for time attacks i would just buy the real volks..seen some bad attempts at painting aftermarket/stock wheels the time attack look...Also like it was said before the stock wheels dont really have the lip to do the red lining

 

my car is red. i know the apr is not the volks i was just saying that because some people dont know what the volks looked like. im thinking of getting my stock wheels a darker gray

 

I think someone on here has the stock 18s photoshop'd like the time attacks, it didnt look good at all. aHero' post the thread

 

The apr wheels aren't like the time attacks though, the entire lip is red, and it seems to either be a candy or anodized coating rather than solid

 

I think the OP is correct, i remember seeing some one painting their STOCK rims like the TIME ATTACKS... i'm going to search and see what i come up with..
