Grounding kit?

I need to get some opinions, facts would be better, on wether a grounding kit is a waste of money on a manual tranny?

You can see my mods so far in my signature. Let me know if you guys think a Gordgees would do anything for me. Not just horsepower but making the car run happier.

cool.

hey wilksoner, you happy with your mrev2?

super street or somebody just did an mrev2 install in their "power pages" section on an '06 350z. The dyno showed a gain of approx. 15 lb. ft. of torque. low end torque too. that's what i want more of.

it will make everything run smoother but wont give you much difference besides this. Grounding kits are really basic, you can purchase an ebay special for 10 bux and have the same results that you would get with any other kit (most are priced around 150 bux) on the market.

Quality wire costs more than $10 bucks so I highly doubt you can get the same output, but your idea is good, you can build your own generic kit for much less using quality wiring and connectors for probably $30-50 worth of materials

No, you do get the same results. We used this as an experiment in one of my mechanical engineering classes lol. We had heard from friends that "name brand" grounding kits are the same as the generic ones from other college car buddies at the time. But wanted to prove it. What do you think would actually coast 30-50 bux in materials? They're just wires and connectors lol. I think I would just buy the more expensive ones to have the name, but what can I say I'm a fool to marketing.

6MT. Well most of gains people rave about are from the auto guys. But IMHO some of the factory grounds could be improved upon. ie.. battery ground, engine to chassis ground strap and the ign coil grounds. IMHO 8 ga is plenty as that's even 4-5x larger than the oem grounds. I also think DIY is okay as long as you connect the terminals/wires via solder/crimping well.

Go to the local Barnes and Noble and pick up the winter edition of Nissan Sport Magazine. Article by yours truly on just this subject.

I'm not even talking name brand, I can spend more than $10 on just connectors that are barely decent. A good ring connector costs in the range of $1-2 each, so you do the math. Decent OFC high strand cable in 4 guage is also relatively expensive
