Make sure they are CD-r's not CD-rw's. Also brands do make a significant difference. Try using a higher grade of blanks, such as Verbatim or Memorex.

Your CD player may be a goner. I've had mine replaced twice under warranty, after getting the same problem as you have. Now, it plays commercial CDs, CD-R and CD-RW.

pssh I'm using .01 cd-r's from Fry's and it works like a beaut!

Was the unit playing fine with cd-r's before and break all of the sudden?

Just becareful when you use these cd-r, mine got stuck in their Disk #5, I had to bring to the dealer to replace the whole CD-player. Other than that, my Cd play all kind of CD type. If you can't play any regular CD, then your CD player has a problem, should bring back to the dealer for replacement, it's free replacement and labor under warranty.
