I had the miserable experience of being in Rhode Island yesterday to see family, and theres a new Nissan dealer right near their house. I called, they said they could do a full tranny flush for 139, and an oil change for 24. Ok. I go in there, it takes them 22 minutes to figure out how to put Infiniti into their computer. So, I say, Just the oil change. I dont trust these ****** with my tranny.
So as he hands me a paper to sign, I ask what type of oil.

"I dunno, sign here"

"No, do you use organic or synthetic oil"

"Uh, hold on"... few minutes later comes back "We use Mobil"

"Not what I asked, Organic or synthetic?"

"Oh, just the regular stuff"

"Ok, how much for synthetic?"

After 6 or 7 minutes of calling all sorts of people on the phone, he gets the price. 8 and change a quart, and just adds that on top of the 24 price.

"So, you're charging me for 5 quarts of synthetic, and 5 quarts of the 'regular stuff' ". He couldnt understnad what I was talking about. I took back my keys and reg, and told them that I'd go to Inskip Infiniti for the $29 full synthetic change."

"Oh, thats a good deal"

"Yup, and their advisors know how to use computers" and I left...

Screw Nissan dealers. I'll buy parts from them, but for service, I'll stick with self-service of Infiniti. (And the Nissan dealer is Balise Nissan, on Rt 1 in warwick right at rt37)

Are you sure they are using full synthetic for $29? 5 quarts of mobile 1 is already almost that much plus a filter, so they wouldn't be making any money on labor at all. Jiffy lubes charge more than that for regular around here

Don't ever go to them again! Your tranny requires J-matic fluid specific to your car. If you open your hood there should be a warning sign saying "Only change with J-matic oil or damaged to tranny may occur". With that said don't try to be cheap. Get your car serviced at an Infiniti dealership. Also for reference my oil changes cost me $40.

No offense, but I highly doubt Mobil 1 synthetic for $29. Something is off there. My dealership uses Mobil synthetic blend for a similar price. For the full synthetic, it's up there around $50.

New to this but what would that have to do with a oil change?

You better know what your doing...........!

Infiniti by my house wanted $300 to service my trans. Two blocks away
is the Nissan dealership where I know everybody and they said $125 for
the same service. I questioned the price and asked if that was the same
tranny fluid used in the Z and he said yes.....this kinda stuff makes me
question who's right. Would there be a diffrence between the Z A/T and
our G.......I doubt it but I'm still not sure......show me the can!
