Driveability after TT mods..

Hello all..

I currently own a highly modded 500+hp Mitsubishi 3000GT VR4, and am considering getting out of the platform and into G coupe.. Pretty much no other choice, right?

My question is this: I love HP. Crave it. But I am totally over owning a modded out car.. the tinkering, the tuning, the watching of the A/F making sure the motor doesn't go boom everytime the ambient air temp changes..

I am wanting a TT kit, but want to retain as much stock driveability and comfort as possible. Any such luck?

Someone on here that has lightly modded, what is your reaction as far as sound/comfort/driveability changes post-TT kit?

Thanks in advance for the help!

I've initially had the APS TT on my otherwise stock G35 for about 8 months. It was a joy to drive, you retain 100% drivability and comfort. It was actually a little quieter than stock.

But eventually, the clutch let go and I wanted more and more power....

Well I suppose I can relate to your issue as I was in your situation and still am. I own a modified 3000gt VR4 also and a TT G35 and the difference is pretty large, with the VR4 your right you have to watch all the gauges and make sure that nothing is out of the ordinary, also the integrity of the vehicle changes drastically due to the way the VR4 is built (not the most reliable engine in the world even when going forged), that said the awd is a wonderful thing
Now with the APS TT and built engine in the G which I have, I can honestly say that I have not worried about anything since day one, I had it boosted about 1 month after I got it with the Vortech for over 41,000 miles then went TT for the last 6 months. Even with no gauges in the car I do not worry about a thing ( still looking for a custom place to install the gauges)
I drive it everyday to work and back which is 140 miles and it has never broken down, plus I take the wife and kids for drives with no complaints about ride comfort or noise issues.

Your going to love this platform compared to the VR4 but I have a sentimental attachment to mine so I decided to keep both

Mine has 504awhp and 500trq, managed 11.618 in the 1/4. It just seems to attract to much attention though, I have been stopped 4 times last year for nothing, they just say things like you did not do a full stop at the sign which I fought and won and other silly things.

Your right though, there is not many left that I see around my area too.

Why don't you look into the new gt-r? 450 hp, twin turbo (so it's great for modding, and Nissan knows their car owners love to mod their cars). Very reliable, and you wouldn't have to worry about anything.
