Air leak, window seal

Does anyone have a air leak sound at freeway speeds (65+) near the rear corner of passenger and driver side window?

No air leak here bro. Are you sure the windows are right up and seating properly when the doors are closed?
If the window is adjusted down even slightly, it won't seat that extra 1/4" when the door is closed.
Otherwise the window is out of adjustment, or the weather seal is biotched.

Yea, I have a high-pitched whistle at 70+. Subtle but annoying nonetheless. Haven't isolated the location but sounds like the rear upper portion of the D side. I can't SEE anything out of the ordinary w/r/t the seal or molding. I'll probably experiment with some electrical tape to isolate the exact spot before taking it in.

Me too- noticed it just recently (I've had the 6M/T since February), and only above 70MPH. Figured I'd mention it when it goes in for the next oil change. And yes, my windows are all the way up. Interestingly, it may have started after I had the window rollers replaced (to stop that ugly grease streak problem).

Re: Air leak, window seal

Any follow-ups or successes with fixing this one. I'm back from the dealer's first try and it was unsuccessful. They replaced a part of the molding/seal that's actually attached to the door where the mirror's attached (the triangular piece @ the front). No effect.

I still think it's the entire "upside down U" molding or a slightly misadjusted window (not going up quite enough). The problem w/my electrical tape experiment is that although I can alter or even eliminate (mostly) the whistle, I don't know if the cause is the seal or a slightly-low window, since the tape would bridge the gap.

Thoughts, successes and part numbers would be great. I'm sure my dealer will eventually find it, but a headstart always helps

I'm sure it's pretty common to have air leakage when you don't have a frame around your window. I've had a couple cars with out window frames and they've all leaked.

It sucks, It doesnt drive off the lot that way so there must be a fix for it. If it wasnt so damn cold out i would go outside and start trying to figure it out myself

It's either adjusting the window or replacing the black weather stripping. I have the same issue and I've been dealing with it forever. One of these weekends I'll get around to ripping the door apart and adjusting the window to see if that will fix it.

In for an answer as well, this just started happening to me after i installed my new gialla grill, could it possibly be coming from that? After my car is at around 40-50mph I hear a whistle.

I had this issue in my Maxima and I used some type of foam weather stripping behind the OEM molding and stopped the noise, I'm gonna try it out and see if it will work with the rimless doors of the G this weekend. Hopefully it works, IIRC when I priced a new molding it was over $100, so hopefully this will be a cheap permanent fix.

This is a common issue. I got use to the sound, plus I usually have the stereo up. I start hearing it when I drive above 60.
