Not startin and creepy brakes...
Not startin and creepy brakes...
OK....two things that have just recently starting to happen.
1) The car sometimes takes 2-3 attempts before it will start (esp if its been sitting a few hours).
Now I have an '04 coupe......and I thought the recall was limited to a "few" '03 coupes?
2) My front brakes are making this wierd noise when I release the brake pedal after coming to a stop.
Its kinda like the noise you hear when you SLOWLY release the brakes and the car inches forward....and the pad is still rubbing against the rotor, BUT this noise happens when I simply take my foot off the brake, and there is a little *thud* too. car has 1600 miles on it.
Comments, queries?!?!?!
Thanks!!

Your ride's starting and braking sure don't seem right. The starting issue could be related to the recall, or low fuel pressure. The dealer will have to check the system.
The only time my brakes make that funny noise is when they are wet. As soon as they dry, they're fine.
The "thud" you mentioned doesn't sound too healthy. Better get them looked at right away too.

Re: Not startin and creepy brakes...
The starting problem you should definitely have checked out. Many times a recall gets extended after its initial implementation to include other VIN's. As for the brakes, Infiniti has finally recognized that there are issues with them. I recently received a letter from them stating that they will do a complete brake job (at their expense) in the first 30,000 miles. Also, in case you didn't know this, Infiniti does not recommend turning the rotors (to increase their income?), and my local dealer confirmed this. Good luck!

Re: Not startin and creepy brakes...
the VQ is notorious for not starting if you, say, move the car then come back and try to start a few hours later. If you shut down when the car is still cold, it will be fuel rich when you come back. Just have to hold the starter a second longer than normal.
