2 weeks trip ruined brakes...

yes thats right.... on xmas i was gone for 2 weeks to texas.... came back to philly on jan 09.... when i got back my car was lets say... 'a mess' .... engine was making weird noises.... tires had bubbles.... brake padle had vibration over 80 mps.... i thought car will eventually settle with me driving around.... and it did.... except the brakes. Any idea why not driving g35 for just two weeks will do this to brakes...??? its a 05 g35 and has only 26k..... on my other car i got brakes at 64k so it pisses me off..... is there any advantage of getting brakes done at the dealers or should i just go to a local shop and save me some $$$.... any idea on cost??

the only advantage of getting your brakes done at the dealership is that they will lighten your bank account. DIY! it won't take more than 2 hrs of your time TOPS. I redid mine in an hour last weekend. piece of cake.... and I have the brembos, so yours should be a sinch

ps d@mn 80mps! that is superman speed lol

Damn thats scary considering I can leave my car parked for a week at time. As for the brakes buy the parts and do it yourself because 500.00+ for a brake job at the dealer is the only deal you will be getting along with them trying to tell you everything else that is wrong with your car.

no dont get oem, get some hawks, and do it your self, the harderest part is taking off your wheels...

all you have to do it remove two clips and the brakes come out.

I don't know if you have ever done brakes before, infini_, so if you haven't, invest in a few things here:

a breaker bar - mertic socket set (up to 23mm atleast) - jack stands (not just the jack) - have a back up vehicle to run for parts (in case what you have is wrong/something snaps, cause it happens occasionally)

the most important is the breaker bar and stands, if you ask me. You can always borrow the sockets from a trusting friend :P

Good Luck!

It's warranty covered. Go to the dealer.
I took my car there when they started vibrating, so they just turned the rotors and it stopped. FREE
