dead battery + jump = dead console?
dead battery + jump = dead console?
sooo my car has been sitting in the cold and when I went to turn it on, the battery was dead. Got some jumper cables finally a day or two later and jumped it right up without any issues.
However, the entire console where the cd player is including the heat, ac, fm, tape, all those buttons are unresponsive. The car turns on and off fine. The steering wheel controls won't power on the stereo either. I cannot adjust the temperature because those buttons are unresponsive as well.
The cd player display is blank and the orangish hue is there on the buttons, but it seems to be a tad bit dimmer. Anyone else experience the same problem? I hate going to the damn dealer but looks like it may be the only option.
any ideas?

What kind of damage am i looking at?
It should say what fuse does what on the fuse box. When you pull a fuse out just look at it to see is the metal wire is broken. If it is replace it with a fuse of the same amp rating. Also check the fuses in the drivers side kick panel.

The fuse puller is in the kick panel. It's a white plastic piece that has a hole in the center. Push it over the fuse and pull it out. The lid for the fuse panel boxes will tell you which ones are the spare fuses.

Thanks bud.. looks like every single fuse in the box by the battery is fried. I'll go pick up some fuses. For those that are in the box looking things, do I have to worry about them? How do I check if they need replacing?
I have to go pick up a battery now as well.
Thanks for your help.
