new spc a-arms
Hey guys,
Im in Florida right now and I was reading a magazine and came across the new spc a-arms
was wondering if any of you guys have any thoughts about the new ones compared to the old ones for those of you that have read about it
think theyre a good choice to go with?
there wasnt much said in the magazine article so I thought you guys might have seen some more information

I have them on order for two over weeks now, still haven't come in yet. I didn't think that anyone had them yet. To my knowledge they're just now starting to go out.
I ordered the front and rear kits, I'll let you know when I get them and install them, should be the next week of two for me.

Ahh...that's one of a good news in the year of 2007!!!
So, did they revise the arm already? How can we be sure if it's not going to have the same issues?

What are the new modifications that make these A-Arms better than the old SPC A-Arms. Will previous buyers be able be compensated if it was a bad design on the first batch?

^^ not sure. I dont know much about them but they supposedly will be sold this upcoming week if not sooner.

I have the first revised arms on my car now and still have the knocking issue although it's much better than with the original arms. SPC had 50 sets of the revised arms in production which now has stopped.
The original arms were hitting in the middle of the arm so SPC redesigned the angle of the arms to create more clearance although this allowed the arms to move up higher. SPC assumed that the stock bump stop would limit the arm travel but what they found was that the bump stop is too compliant and with the combination of the slope of the fenders on high velocity bumps the arms would hit at the end of the arms.
This is a car specific problem depending on your setup. In general if you're not dropped more than 1" and running high springs rates, you will have a better chance of not having an issue although nothing is a guarantee.
SPC wants to design a camber arm without any issues, high quality and more adjustability than what's on the market. The original arm had 3.5* of positive camber and their goal is to keep the same spec although they may opt for less positive camber out of necessity. I'm assuming worst case scenario would be 2*-2.5* of positive camber still better than any other arms currently available.
I should have more info this week and will post any new developments has I get them. I have been using the section under "Brakes and Suspensions" and the thread "SPC Poll". I will post all new updates there, furthermore if there are any questions please post them there and I will try to answer them.

SPC was thinking of dropping the line for the G and only market the revised arms for the Z which doesn't have the same problem as the G. Their thinking was that R&D was costing them so much and could they in fact design an arm with 3.5* adjustability. I was able to convince SPC that an arm at least with 2* positive camber, caster and toe adjustability is very marketable, since that would be better than any other arm on the market. Also, at their price point nothing comes close with those specs. I believe that SPC thinks that this is doable so they have continued with their R&D.
