newb question - revving engine while driving in AT
ok ok, this is probly one of the newbest questions ever posted on this board, and im pretty sure of the answer, but just incase....
what would happen if i were driving, at a slow speed, put my car into neuteral while in motion, revved my engine, let the RPM's settle back down, and put it back in drive? is this do-able?
i want to be able to rev my engine while driving like the MT's
*puts on about 48 flame proof suites and grabs 4 fire extinguishers incase*

so i can do this....?
when going back into drive do i just let the rpms drop or do i have to try to go back in at whatever RPMs they were prior to going into neuteral?
also, from a standstill, revving in neuteral then dropping into drive, would that be the equivelant of an MT jump starting at high rpms, or would that be pure stupidity/terrible for my car?
im asking these idiot questions because its better IMO than experimenting and getting the answer i DONT want

I was going down a toll road yesterday going about 90mph and then I shifted into neutral to save gas/for the hell of it. And I gave it a little bit of gas before I shifted back into drive, but either way I didn't feel a jolt or shift or anything. It did it seamlessly so you should be fine
Lol.... the only reason why I rev in my auto is when think that im in manumatic mode..... so I "upshift" going into neutral and end up looking like an idiot
But I know im not the only person that has ever done that

For the love of God, do not do this to your car.
While driving, you can drop it into neutral, rev it, then try to match the rpms you had before, then throw it back in gear.
Rev'ing it from a standing still and dropping it into gear, however, is most definitely a bad thing.
