Thing to consider is that you get a big tax break when you trade in your car while buying another, you only pay tax on the difference in price. That sometimes adds up to thousands of dollars. Good luck.

Exactly.

I am looking into a 04 G coupe for $25,337.

If I purchased it outright, the sales tax would be around $2030.
If I traded in my car, the sales tax would be around $470

I work at a dealership and that sounds about right, 21k would be a little better.

What you should do is take your car to the local honda dealership and have them quote you a trade in price if you got the accord. They will be comparable and you mise well take the tax break, and the savings in hassle will be nice too.

Really? So, i guess the tax thing would only work if i trade in the car at the same place where i buy it.
