Changing wheels with Infiniti jack

I'm realizing I'll need winter wheels/tires, but I have no place to store them in my apartment. I may be able to get them delivered to my brother's place in NJ though, presumably ready to install.

I've heard some horror stories about using the car's factory jack, and was wondeing if anyone's used it to mount winter wheels successfully. I could probably change the wheels at his place and store the summer wheels there too, which would be very convenient for me. I've heard stories of the jack collapsing though. That would be bad... : )

The Infiniti jack isn't the best but it'll get the job done for you. Just be sure you're on level, hard ground and the jack is sitting square.
It helps to loosen (slightly) the lug nuts b4 jacking the wheel off the ground to lessen stress on the jack.
Don't forget the recommended torque on the nuts is about 75 to 85 ft. lbs. when reinstalling.

Usually what I do if there are no jack stands handy, is to keep one or two of the wheels coming off or going on under the car, just in case a jack fails.

I have used it to change wheels 3 times now. But I will be investing in a hydraulic one after the winter.

Re: Changing wheels with Infiniti jack

After lowering my G, I find it hard to use aftermarket jacks, so what I do is use the factory one to jack it up a few inches and then I go ahead use an aftermarket one...

Harbor Freight tools and Sears has a nice all aluminum jack. They are lower and lighter. Check them out.
