I asked a body shop about painting mine. They said $8,000 (CDN). So I asked, how much to paint it really nice - they said $ 12,000 (CDN).

Man, I would love to trade my 5AT (sports package) for a 6MT. I got around 3k on mine and bought 2.5 months ago new. But going to the dealer again means you're personally holding a sign asking them to rape you as a favour. I guess the ideal is if I can find someone who has an 06 manual with same miles who wants to switch to an auto, which seems very hard to come across.

I dont think its a good idea to paint the G unless your going all out and doing the whole frame, door jams, trunk jams, engine bay and all that stuff which would probably make it more expensive then trading in a G for another color.

good grief...i didn't realize a new paint job was that expensive...maybe it is cheaper to trade in for a new car.

Probably not, but even at $30k, you are probably losing $8k in less than a year including sale taxes.

Yea, considering all the crap they add to the negotiated price, I just gave up. I'll drive my 06 for around 3.5-4 years then at that time I will buy some kind of clutchless manual car.
