New Owner 350GT from Japan - What does REV mean and where is the button for it?

Hiya

I just picked up my 2006 6MT coupe from customs today, after waiting a LONG LONG time.

I have no manual, so i'm wondering what does REV mean on the dash. I assume it means REV limiter ON or OFF? Where is the toggle button for it? I can't find it!

PS - I will post detailed pics soon, because i know some people want to see the differences between the 350GT and G35

you can d/l a manual from they infiniti sight, but in regards to the rev light, push the trip switch 2 times until it shows rpms, and that is how you set your rev light, set it to the rpms you want it to blink at and you are good to go

ahh so the words REV come up when you hit the preset limit. Does it limit your revs or just remind you to shift?

(i havn't driven manual in about 8 years, so quite a change from my 2L auto)

the REV letters don't light up, a little red bar underneath it does, and it doesn't limit anything, its just like a shift light

it reminds you to shift. it starts blinking when you're approaching your preset limit and lights up fully when you hit the limit

Kinda off topic but...I just learned how to drive a manual this week. I would think about getting a manual trans on my next car...in a long time. Do you know right away whether you would always want a MT?? cuz I still dont know if i would get tired of always having to shift.

uhm in bumper to bumper traffic jams you would wish you were driving an auto I guess( at least that's how i feel). Especially when you're in a traffic jam on a slope.
But driving MT is very fun at times other than that.

I actually prefer driving a manual in stop and go because I can control my speed much better and have to apply the brakes less. I'll never go back to auto now if I have the choice

trying to downshift and make a turn while talking on the cell is not easy if you ever have to do that haha (not looking to be flamed. i don't do this all the time, only when picking up extremely important phone calls)

i got the little red bar up, i guess i wasn't driving hard enough... lol
i feel the manual is gonna be a pain in the *** getting in and out of my park
i have to go backwards and forwards 4 times, that is like 8 gear shifts.

LOL....I hope you are not serious. It means you are driving erratically or hitting the gas too hard. if you have a manual, then you are dumping the clutch too fast. which you can't notice because you are drunk. dont drink and drive.
