LED conversion from Clearcorners.com
Re: LED conversion from Clearcorners.com
LCA575, how do the highbeams/fogs work? I assume neither of those projectors are bixenon, so I guess you loose the functionality of the fogs? The fog light "button" would just not work I presume.
Re: LED conversion from Clearcorners.com
In this installation we retainted the H7 High beam bulb so it would function the same as factory. The High beams ARE actually modified 90mm Bi-Xenons (restrictor plate was completely eliminated)

Those look great! Show us some beam pattern pics when you get a chance.
What are you using for shielding around the sides of the projectors? So you're using H7 + D2S Bi xenon projector with shield removed? Would it have been easier to just use a H7 projector?

I think clearcorners is great.
I think they do a good job with the lights and like someone else mentioned. No one else does it.
You could try to do what they do at home...(I've done it...7 hours inthe middle of the summer with a blow dryer to melt the glue and sealant) and that's just to get an orange peice out.
These guys do a lot more....and it looks great.
Question though: Can you specify just doing one thing like clear the amber peice (blinker) and nothing else? would that affect the price rather than doing everything?

Sportcoupe, thanks for the compliments. Regarding the clear signal conversion, that really isnt a conversion we are looking to offer. Disassembling headlights is not the easiest task and can be rather risky and time consuming. To fully dismantle a set of headlamps simply to clear out a signal is very much a moot point. Its like disassembling a motor just to change the bearings -- while you are there, you MIGHT as well take care of a few upgrades.

E_K:
I had the shields custom made, I can put you in touch with the guy who did them for me if you are interested.
I couldn't outsource H7 90mm lenses, let me know if you know where to find them. I really wanted to use Q45 (Multi-Beam) Projecotrs for the High Beam but couldn't locate a set without buying the entire headlight assemblies.

Re: LED conversion from Clearcorners.com
LCA,
I ended up making my own shields using a soda can. If you do a search, you can see pics of my projectors on this forum.

I found this link in regards to a projector that uses H7 stock, but I don't know where you might be able to get it.
There was a set of Q45 projectors on ebay a few weeks ago. I'm pretty sure the Q45 projectors won't fit into the stock low beam section without serious modification, so I ended up not bothering with that possibility.

2003Z> For the folks who want a trade program, how would clearcorners deal with getting your rock chipped light covers in exchange for a nice set? You can't just order the lens.
Not sure I understand your question. We dont sell the entire headlamp, we convert your OEM headlamps to the ones you see illustrated on our site. This is why its important customers send us a headlamp that is in good condition. This is also why we do not do core-exchanges on headlamps.
Also, pay close attention to companies that DO sell complete headlamp housings and see what they offer you. Typically, companies like APC and TYC sell headlamps made of low grade plastic, poor sealing, and use headlamp components with very poor optics. This is why they can afford to sell their complete headlamps for a few hundred bucks and why they also perform worse than OEM. We have been working with lighting for many years now. In my opinion, I think the G35 headlamp is a very high quality lamp. Even though some people may not like the reflector HID, I think its just a matter of preference in lighting pattern, NOT performance
old_s13,
It wasn't really a question for you, I was responding to someone who wanted to be able to exchange rather than wait the time to have you convert theirs. imho, You would be a fool to offer an exchange program and risk getting lights in with an unusable pitted glass cover.
