Engine Torque Damper NICE Mod!

Hey guys, just got done throwing in an Engine Torque Damper (ETD) on my Coupe. I picked this unit up from Wai Jai Enterprises for roughly $140 shipped to my door. I had heard a lot about ETD's, but when I shopped around, I couldn't find one under $300, so I never really gave it second thought, until I ran across this unit. I figured for the $$$ it would be a good investment to try it out, and let me tell you - it actually works!

What it does is reduces (dampens) engine movement under on and off or hard throttle acceleration conditions, allowing for a more direct power transfer to the drivetrain with less engine wrap / wear on the engines OEM motor mounts, which in return gives the driver a more positive shifting experience. This is quite noticeable during the 1st to 2nd gear shift, as well as in the 2nd to 3rd shift.

Installation was a breeze! The unit comes with a special mount that attaches to the engine via an existing mounting location with the supplied hardware. The other end is then mounted to the hoods open / shut sensor bracket. You do have to drill out a pre existing hole to accept the larger mounting bolt, but its easy to do.

In about 30 minutes or less, you can get it all done!

For those of you who are looking for an easy to do mod, that actually gives something back to the driver you can feel, this mod is highly recomended. It also wont rip a hole in you wallet.

If you still have any doub'ts (just like I did when I first heard and saw one) go online and do a little research. You'll come across tons of articles, pics and tuners whom use them.

Sweet...didn't know that was you ducatiguy! I've always admired your car. Yeah sorry about not supplying the install instructions w/ the shipment. Glad to hear it wasn't too much of a hassle w/ the install. How does everything feel now? notice a difference?

It will work on an automatic transmission just fine. I have one on my 5AT.

Re: Engine Torque Damper NICE Mod!

interesting.... never seen sucha mod till now... yeah ive noticed that our engine moves ALOT when u gas it hard... that looks like a good way to reduce the movement of the engine...

my stupid lil thought... when engine gets hot... wouldnt the gas chamber of that thing expend? pushing the engine or is it just a spring in there... haha

Yeah, and it will give you more power to the rear wheels too...honest..just ask the guy selling them.

I hope you recognize the sarcasm.

Re: Engine Torque Damper NICE Mod!

It wont give you more, but rather allow better and more direct power transfer - giving a firmer and more responsive shift feel...
