Window stuck down.... Warranty = No..
Hello there! My car just went out of warranty this january, and now the passengers side window is stuck down.... its really strange because yesterday when i tried to roll it up, it kept going up then down halfway.... now, if i let it sit for a minute, it will go up a bit then down a bit, very strange behavior. As of now it is stuck down, what should I do? I had the regulator replaced in september..... not sure if its that or the motor. Has anyone ever replaced the motor themselves, I really dont want to pay 189 dolalrs an hour for labor, its rediculous.
thats one of those things that just too big of a pain in the a** to do myself. i do all the fun work on the g, my nissan dealer does all that little stuff. when you get involved with the cables and mechanisms that make that window go up and down . . . i let nissan repalce mine

they told me that if it is the regulator then I wont be charged... but if its not, they charge me like 189 for the diagnostic and then + the part + labor.... WTF!
Sorry to hear your starting the "out of warranty" problems.....Sounds like the window motor.....common symptom, window goes up half way, then goes back down.
Maybe you will be lucky and all they have to do is a reset on the motor...
They should extend the coverage for the window motors since they have been nothing but a problem from the start.....Just like the 03-04 non brembo brakes.....
You may still be able to extend your factory warranty, but make sure it covers everything and not just your drive train components
Good luck

I'm not sure if I ever did went to dealer for the 2nd that happened to me (fixed by dealer 1st time). Anyway, I think you should try to roll down your windows with the romote and then roll them back up with the key. It worked for me I believe, and if not, just go to a cert. mechanic and save a lot of $$$, no diagnostic charge for sure.
it was 5 degrees out when mine broke at 6:15 am....oh god did i wanan kill someone....so i drove 2 work waited a lil bit my window wouldnt go up...i went 2 infiniti almost 20 minutes away in traffic freezing my nuggets off and i tell teh service manager and he said oh u should of called i would of told u 2 just bang it really hard with ur side of ur fist and it should of went up! lol...bastard! so they changed out my regulator in warranty...
and it shouldnt be too late to get a warranty extension....if someone bought the car used they can get one...but if your car is modded they might be able to deny you...
