The g35x should be in the same price range as a volvo. how much did you pay?
Well the volvo is AWD that is the main difference IMHO and the main reason why I got it so I do believe it would do much better in the snow (with a set of nice tires of course).

As for the g35x the new ones are still pretty expensive, so if I do want to get one I have to wait at least 2 years, plus do they have a blue color?

as for the volvo it was in the low $30Ks.

Latest update:

Just talked to my dealership and explained to them my whole situation. They all know me pretty well since I have been going there for 2 years now and I really like to walk around and chat with them when I'm waiting for my car. Anyway they offered me the following:

Extended warranty for 3yr/36,000 (from the date of signing for it).
It is the exact same warranty as what I currently have, with 0 deductables.
They offered it to me for $1584 which I think is an amazing deal.

I have contacted many other dealerships and they all price the 3yr warranty around $2300.

So this one is a really good deal. I'm really tempted now. The thing is that Infiniti is raising the warranty prices starting in April (I heard this from at least 2 dealerships so far). So I have to make a decision within the next week.

I'm really leaning towards keeping the G getting the extended warranty and selling R.

What a tough desicsion! Both cars are beautiful and have their own great features. You mentioned selling the volvo and possibly making a small profit, could that profit cover the cost of the warranty? That might help take a little of the financial pressure off. Not knowing your financial situation (none of my business) maybe if you still have a loan on the G you could try to pay it down a little sooner and by next winter re-purchase another Volvo or AWD car.

I never took a loan on my G, I paid for it cash back in the day. I didn't take a loan on the Volvo either, even though most of the money I put in it is not mine so that is why I need to sell one of them ASAP.

As for a profit I'm not sure I will make one, but it really does seem like most similar cars in my area are selling for about 3 to 5K more than what I paid.

It really is a tough decision, but after seeing the new G37 today I'm really starting to lean more towards keeping mine, and getting the extended warranty.

As someone mentioned earlier the G is the hotter looking car (and I totally agree), and for someone as young as me it does seem to suit me better. I went to visit my dad last week and gave him rides in both cars and what he said was "The G is your type of car, the Volvo is my type of car". I guess that really sums it up

Just curious, which one feels faster when driving? You're into performance so that should be a factor too.

It is really hard to tell because one is MT and the other is AT. However, after spending a whole day of switching from one car to the other I have to admit the Volvo definitely feels faster even if it is automatic.

The thing is that at the end of the day, I'm not so much a "performance" type of person. I never modded my G, I never even once complained that it wasn't fast enough. So that really is not one of my main concerns I guess.

I know this thread has been dead for a while now but I just wanted to say thanks to everyone for their advice/help and to give you all an update:

I sold my R last weekend, at no loss whatsoever. I actually got quite a bit more money for it than what I initially paid for it, I did not make a profit though, since I had to pay taxes and delivery charges for it.

So that means the G STAYS. After I saw the new coupe I was convinced that I won't be getting another G in the near future so why not keep mine. I went to the dealer and got a great deal on a 3year/36,000 mile extended warranty. So I'm all set until 2010 at least.

So I will be sticking around, possibly even modding my car a little. We will see
