Your Thoughts: 2005 Infiniti G35 Coupe...

So a dealership is selling a PWP 2005 Infiniti G35 Coupe for $26,900. I am very interested in the car, but I want to know what you guys think. I ran a carfax on it and its clean. It was built in September of 2005 so its a late model. Here are some specs:

30,058 miles
No Nav (I don't think)

What options should I expect from this car?

One thing that I was concerned about was that he said that there were other wheels on it right now that are rashed up. He would be replacing them with factory 19s so that wouldn't be a concern. My concern is if there was anything else wrong with it and just wasn't reported. But I'll inspect the car when I test drive it.

I will most likely haggle the price down to $26,000 or even more if they don't give me a good price on my TSX.

Do you guys think $26,000 would be a good price?

I have tried, but in the end it probably will even out because of the tax break you get when you trade a car in.

I would probably only get like $22,500 for my car, but if I trade it in, I will probably get $20,000 for it. With the tax break it would save me like $1500. I know I will lose out about $1000, but it will save me the hassle of trying to find a buyer and I can pick this car up before it gets purchased. This is the best deal I have found.

So my goal is to walk in there and tell them they have a sale if they lower their price to $26,000 and then take my car for at least $20,000.

I can get a rate of 5.7% for 48 months from my credit union which would make the payments be $420 per month which is $50 more than what I pay per month for my TSX, but I know I'll love this car more since its a manual and it looks freakin' hot.

I'm not going to get my hopes up too high though...

I find it hard to believe the dealership would give you 2500 less than what you could sell it for yourself. They wouldnt make any money on that deal. 26K seems like a good price on the G though. Is it auto? I have my 2005 6mt premium with 17k miles on autotrader for 29K. By the looks of autotrader, I'm underpiced by about 1k.

Actually...I am also looking a 2004 350Z Roadster at a Nissan dealership and they were willing to sell me the car for $25,000 and then take my car for $21,000. So it is doable. If this G does not work out, then I may go with the Roadster instead.

And the G is a 6MT w/ 30,000+ miles on it.

if they tag it 26,900
im very sure u can beat more than 26,000 but it depends ..if u r good with counter attacks and very talkive.... anywhere between 21,000-26,000 ...just my thought..
check bumpers for spider cracks and the headlight for crack leaks ect...
pop the hood check the corner fenders and touch feel with ur hand ...if its rough it might be repainted before...and check for spary spots....
good luck with the deal!
one more thing! DO NOT SHOW THEM UR EXPRESSION ON HOW GOOD YOU WILLING TO BUY THE CAR...u know what im saying right? make THEM want you to the buy car...say things bad about the car to the sales.

Thanks for the advice! Never thought about opening up the hood and checking the inside for areas where it could of been fixed and repainted.

I'll try not to act happy...which shouldn't be a problem if they don't give me what I want for a trade in price and what I want for the car. But $26,900 has been the best I have seen it listed. 2005 w/ 30,000 miles.

I'm picking up a 2005 G35C 6mt today. Car has premium and sport packages with 10,515 miles on it, and I'm getting it for $27,000. Not bad, is it?

That's a sweet price! How did you finagle that one??? Long hours of negotiating? What was the list price?

I guess the Nissan dealership that I was looking at my 350ZR has a Black 2004 G Coupe w/ I think Nav for $25,900 so that could be a better option for me.

Do people think I should go with the 2005 White w/ no nav or this 2004 Black w/ Nav (if I heard him correctly)? They have the same miles.

well....I work in the car business so I have a few guys i can call....I was also looking for a 2005 ZR when I first started looking, but I couldn't find a yellow Touring anywhere...for a 2005 ZR Touring under 20k miles, I would pay probably around $26-26.5k...for a 2004 ZR Touring w/o nav, I'd probably pay $24-24.5k...as far as the G you're talking about, what kinda package does it have? If it doesn't have the premium or sport packages, it can be a difference of $2-$3k...but regardless, I'd go with an 05 over an 04 due to the changes...

Hey, where do you guys get your incredible G at so low price??

I look at one 2005 G35 coupe 6mt with 16k miles on it and she (a private seller) asked $28k for it. The car is fully loaded except for Navi. She is the only owner and she doesn't drive much. Do you think it worth the price? .

You guys have advise on how to get a G at lower price? where to?

Sooiseng~

The one I'm looking at has 30,000 miles. So one that has only 16K miles is pretty good for $28K. What options does it have? I would probably pay around $27K-$27.5K though.
