K&N Typhoon Installed
Wow, Thats all I gotta say... The thing looks sweet in there. I got it in blue and it is powder coated on the inside and out. Throttle response is imediate, and the sound above 3000+ rpm's sounds like a lion wakeing up. The bit@h roars now!... The Butt dyno actually feels a difference esp up higher on the rpm scale, and I feel no loss of torque down low at all. Spun the tires at a light and it jumps right into action. I also had a Hyper grounding kit (blue) installed which looks cool in there also, I am gonna re-route some of them because they have them tucked away to neatly and almost can't tell that they are in there...
If you are looking into a CAI, I would think hard about getting the K&N Typhoon. I also had a AeM bypass valve put on there for good measure. Oh' by the way the filter sits inside of a black knit bootie for extra protection. This thing is badass...

Re: K&N Typhoon Installed
I got it from Apex motorsports here locally in Tucson. They have a web page at www.apexsupra.com and I think they ship out of state as well. I did a little looking on line and found the prices to be anywhere from 209 to 349 for the exact same intake. I went thru my local guy for 229.00 and install was only 35.00 and they installed my grounding kit as well. The cost of the hyper grounding kit was 100.00. The Intake is not a short ram, but goes down and rests behind the front grill. It's location is prime for max airflow. Between the two aluminum halves of the intake I had a AeM bypass valve installed (45.00) as well, for a little more peace of mind. Everything looks and sounds great and am very happy with my 1st engine mods.

Re: K&N Typhoon Installed
I'll second Tiji,
I just recently got my Typhoon installed and it really is Bad ***. The sound is amazing at around 4000-5000 rpm's. You can definitely feel a performace change in the way the car runs. All my friends think so too when were driving and they don't even know about all this stuff. I got mine for free from K&N because they were testing it on my car to see if the 2003 intake fits the 2004 models.
I will take some pics first thing in the morning and post them along with the Dyno results they printed me out. Enjoy it Triji.

Re: K&N Typhoon Installed
Apparantly it's a convertible system that allows removal of the long down tube.
With that tube removed tho, it's not a CAI but a WAI for obvious reasons.
Congrats on your install Triji. Sounds like you sorted out a decent install price.
I'm still waiting on mine. They take longer to come way up here in the 'Tundra'. If it comes in soon, I'll post pics too.

Re: K&N Typhoon Installed
Here are some pics of mine. I bought mine from 4filters.com for $237.25 which includes shipping. They were great to order from so I do recommend them highly.

Re: K&N Typhoon Installed
I did the install myself. It took about 45 minutes and was pretty easy. I think I used a screwdriver, an allen wrench, and a 10mm socket. Oh, and a floor jack to take off the front rim.
And the instrustions they provided were excellent. My grandmother could have put this thing in.
