So you expect a 3500 lbs. luxury sports car to get the mileage of a hybrid? Mileage is not something to complain about if you want such a heavy 3.5L car.

I think it is something to complain about, considering that GM is able to get a 3500 pound V8 6-speed Camaro/Trans-Am/Firebird to get 26 to 28 miles per gallon on the highway at the same speeds that a G35 Coupe will get 22/23 MPG, and yet that car still smoke us from 0 to any speed.

The G35 could probably stand to have a slightly taller 6th gear for highway RPM's IMO... although this might make the car look less imressive on paper since it would probably slightly lower the top speed, or at least make it take longer to hit that top speed(at least on the non-rev-up G35's which had a lower redline and need to be in 6th to get there). Personally, I'd take that tradeoff in a heartbeat, since the motor has plenty of power to pull a .69 6th gear ratio instead of the current .79.... and it would probably get us another 2 or 3 MPG at normal highway speeds since we'd be runing the motor at 400 RPM's less than right now at about 75 to 80 MPH(G35 6MT as it is now: 2900-2950@80MPH With .69 6th gear: 2550@80MPH).

It would be sweet to be able to coast at 65 MPH on the highway in 6th gear and only be doing a shade under 2100 RPM's instead of like 2400 like we are now. Hell.. I have a 2.7 liter 4-Cylinder Tacoma 4x4 with a 5-speed manual transmission and that motor only puts out 150 HP and 177 TQ, yet it pulls almost the exact same RPM's in top gear on the highway at 80MPH that my G35 does.... and we're talking about a boxy, tall, nonaerodynamic truck with wheels/tires that weigh over 30 pounds more each than that of a G35 tire/rim combo(not to mention the aggressive tread).... and yet it still gets almost the same economy on the highway at that speed as my G.

The downside to me is the gay amber in the headlights and the simple fact they made the low beams HIDS and the high beams some dang xenon bulbs.

I drop my razor (cell), my lighter, keys, etc. down there and it's like a five minute procedure to reclaim the item. Once I was getting gas (a bit hung over too) and I dropped my 20 down there I ended up paying with my card because I didn't want to bother with it.

You even look stupid getting out of the car and moving the seat all the way up and raising it to get the items, not to mention the grease on the seat tracks!
I dropped the cover to me cell phone battery down the black hole so I had to stop and pull over to retrieve it, not only did I get my cover back, I found about 4 dollars in change, two pens, a lighter, and some chapstick. When ever you drop something in the car it magically bounces around and ends up down there.

My other dislikes are:
-Window motor issues (replaced twice so far)
-Rattle from rear deck (I fixed by self with foam, weather stripping and Dynamat)
-(BOSE Buy other stereo equipment) Replaced with DD kit 1 month after purchasing car
-City Mileage 15-16mpg, Highway not bad though 26mpg at 85mph.
-The factory Paint (My car was in a wreck and has been completely repainted with much better paint, no orage peal and thick)
-Gas Pump issues (only at some stations and the dealer fixed it, well atleast they claim they did)

Other than these few minor things, I love the car and glad I bought it.

Two things I haven't seen yet:
- That damn Rev LED...feel like I'm in an '80s Escort with a shift light
- Crap plastic cover over the engine. Nissan puts a serious piece of engineering under the hood, and what do they do? HIDE IT! What is this, part of the whole Japanese shame thing?

EDIT: OK I can change the REV light. Figured there must be something one can do with it...

Actually thanks, the lap belt reminded me of my other peeve...what's with the driver's seat belt connector(thing the seat belt plugs into)??? I'm thin but not a rail (5'9, 145lbs) and I can't get this thing out of the way...when I have time it'll be taken apart and that metal bar it's on is going to meet either Mr. Hacksaw or Mr Dremel...it should be about 4" shorter, IMHO.

All things considered, despite my prior posts about the things I don't like, I can't think of a better overall value for $25K than what I paid several months ago for a loaded 2004 G35 6mt Coupe (All options except navigation) with 12K miles.

I love my G but I can't stand:

1. Rattling rear-view mirror
2. Slow as hell automatic seat moving feature (or what ever you call it).
3. Wish they would of kept the Brembo's for 2005.

Overall, can't complain too much, but here are a few peeves of mine ('05 G35c 6mt):

-Extremely soft factory paint
-Damn amber in the front headlights (should've came clear or atleast clear lens)
-Grinding gears (most of the time)
-Staggered tires = new tires every 15K
-Rattling from driver side AC vent
