I had a loaded Passat GLX before my G35 Purchase. I loved the interior and fit and finish, but after only 19,000 miles, the electrical gremlins started showing up, and I abandoned ship. They are fun cars, especially that little GTi. Not cheap either, but a nice little package.

tons of hate, but there are a lot of people here who are not car enthusiasts.

enjoy the new ride. looks pretty cool. i wonder how time attack wheels would look on it? lol.

id love to try a dsg transmission sometime.

good luck with the new business, and congratulations on your new home.

have fun with that gti. i test drove one for when they first came out, and that DSG is fantastic. It makes an unearthly good burble during shifts.

i wish i could do time attacks... but my lug pattern is 5 x 112 and they dont make then in that lug pattern... i could do adapters... but idk... thanks for all the POSITIVE comments guys. yep the DSG is faster than the 6 spd (8 ms in between shifts in comparison the enzo is 150 ms )

DSG vs. 6MT:

Nice....I had a VW before I had the G. I miss it still. There's a community feel that the VW people have that most other car forums don't.

Good luck with everything.

you know who to ask if you ever need projector headlamps for your little fastie rabbit.

Good luck with the house and everything.

I hear thoes GTI's are really fun to drive... but Gawd, that back end us just about one of the ugliest car-rears I have ever seen driving on U.S. soil! haha.

Wow, that DSG is surely impressive

The RPM's fall back down to the next gear before you even blink!

But still, I'd rather have a 6MT. Funner and more interactive experience.

Goodluck with the GTI. Sometimes you have to let go of something better (G35) to prosper; hope everything works out with your planned investment.

Hey all its been a while and I thought I'd drop in to say whats up! Well... as for my plans in my OP, they are pretty much on track, sans the house buying, but a smart move on my part and a ****ty economy are responsible for that. My business is going well, I got enaged, getting married on March 13, 2010, and I am setting course to start a Master's Degree. The GTI has been holding up very well, it's now dumped on coils, and I have some pretty rare Gotti G1001 splits waiting to be refinished.

Suspension: B&G RS2 Coilovers, fenders @ 23.5" front, and 23.75" rear

Wheels (future): 3pc Gotti G1001, 17x8.5 et45, 205/45/17. Will be refinishing soon. Will be doing polished lips and face, with some sort of color (tbd) on the inside of the spokes. Bolts will be polished regular, or may do polished spiked bolts.

Current state of the wheels:

Future of the wheels:
