Cheese with the Wine

I am seriously unamused by all the whining and complaining lately. I know that forums are a playground for this but I really have a tough time with it. "my keys look cheap', "the interior looks cheap", "the paint chips", "I've got rattles", blah blah blah.

This is a great car for a reasonable price. The quality matches the price. Yes Lexus or BMW interiors are better, they cost more. There are only a handful of cars built worldwide in this price range that can be compared with our coupes.

Sorry to vent but I can't stand whiners. Daddy didn't give me this car and I am not rich. I worked hard for the money that bought this car and I am totally satisfied with my choice. I will overlook the minor flaws because the overall package is outstanding. Am I the only one here getting sick of the *bitchin. On a closing note, I sold my high quality Lexus to buy this car. I gave up a bit of quality but I am not longer falling asleep in my car because it bores me to death. This car rocks. Never before have I turned for another glimpse after parking my car after owning it a year.

AMEN! If your not happy with the quality of it, sell it. If it doesn't shift as good as your Honda, sell it and go buy a Honda. If you wish it had AWD and a v8 like the S4, why didn't you buy the s4?

I have to disagree with you on the quality of the car though. I'm very happy with the quality and think it's equally as good as BMW and the over priced Toyota's.

--- Sovietcanuckistan --- lol, that's good.

I hear ya bro, You said something that needs to be said once in a while.
There have been some issues with the G's with brakes, seats, trannies and such, but by and large it's been a damn good ride in it's first 2 yrs. , and it seems that Infiniti is right there backing us all the way.
In all the threads I've read tho, there's been much more praise than biotchin'. Our G35Driver community has over 7000 members now and it's expected that there'll be some negative feedback or even pettiness. In most cases , mine included, it's been very difficult to fault the car. It's the best I've ever had and not let me down. Sure there's been the odd creak and rattle, or a grease streak, or a gas gauge that's not exactly right, or gas mileage that's not so hot, but none of those things have taken away anything from my enjoyment of the ride, and I wouldn't trade it for anything. It truly is the first ride in a long time that I'm happy with and keeping. (Thank God -- I ain't got any dough left)
I'm amused by the comments about the keys, paint and rattles, and sometimes frustrated by it too, but I'm also comforted that the issues are mainly small and comical, and that the more serious issues are not so prevalent.
I confess that I do look in the parking lots. I'm an incurable car lover but, like you, I never take a second look because nothing turns me on like this ride.

Yes the G rocks......

Happy New Year to Sovietcanuckistan from the Ontario Tundra.

I disagree. Better to complain about the key fob than to have real serious matters to complain about in our G35's. =)

Re: Cheese with the Wine

Here is my cents on this.... I agree with you (Soviet..something).... I am not rich either and worked very hard for my money and saved a lot to buy this car... and god damn do I give it that second look when I walk away from it, whether in the parking lot of a shopping center or whether in my garage.... I love this car....

However, this forum is for discussion and GSedanman is right in that 90% of this forum is praise about their car, posting pics, exchanging info on what mods people want and how to do it... Yes, you do get those very petty people who don't like certain things and they are just expressing their opinions.... One thing that I find REALLY helpful about this website is that the fact that you know if your experiences are unique to your G, or common amoung most.... For example, the rear deck rattle in the coupes... I had this problem and brought it into the dealership 3 times to get it fixed. I was persistant on this issue because people on this website shared their similar experience and I had this forum as my reference when I went to the dealer.... Since this is my 1st luxury car, I probably would have accepted the problem after the first bring-in...

I truly love this website and it has helped me out very much.... I just got a digital camera for Christmas and I can't wait to post more pics of my car, especially as I get newer mods....

Complainers are fueled and fed off the replies they get. The more people reply the more they are encouraged. Unfortunately it goes against human nature to ingnor them, you can ask, but people won't stop replying to them. However I do think their is a difference between complaining and having a legitimate problem where you need replies to work towards resolution.

Dang straight, it's all about the glory of helping. Who have you helped today?

Re: Cheese with the Wine

I'm unamused by people who give compainers a hard time, but are first in line for the TSB when it comes out. If it doesnt apply to you, dont read it. Sure the car rocks, it doesnt take anything away from your ownership experience for me to have a rattle or premature brake wear (now covered thanks to the whiners you hate).

I also busted my a$$ to buy this car and I'm totally satifisfied with it. Those minor flaws you cant stand hearing about are just that, minor. They can be fixed or avoided.

I think the point of us all being here is to improve our ownership experience. That means different things to each one of us and we all benefit from the contribution, positive or negative (for the most part).

I dont whine, I listen.... I dont let it get to me. I dont think much could wipe the grin off my face when I start the GC every morning.. If those 'whiners' happen to find a solution to one of the minor annoyances, even better..

Thats awesome that you got a G35-C...

...because 240's arent for everybody.. they are reserved for crazy folk who like to work on their own cars. Its a more grass-roots car.

Re: Cheese with the Wine

Better to complain about these minor little things... than complain about potentially major things like the 350Z guys deal with.

Re: Cheese with the Wine

You have piqued my curiosity themyst_x. What are the 305Z guys dealing with?

Oh, by the way, I like wine and I like cheese. I also like cheese with my wine. That being said, I think that consumer complaints regarding an issue with a product is fundamental to good business and drives competition. Thus the reason for the original posters comment on the competitive price of our lovely vehicle. It only becomes whining when the consumer does nothing about their complaint.

Re: Cheese with the Wine

Another AMEN! I had my 330i for three years, I spent loads of dough trying to make it something that I enjoyed driving. But it was boring. Could I have bought a M3? Sure but I wanted to have some fun with this car and it's an incredible value. I too get tired of all the bitchin' and wonder why not just get rid of it if you don't like it. Like I've said before....Life's too short.

Re: Cheese with the Wine

Sorry for bringing this thread back to life, but I want everyone to read this. For the love of g-d, do we need 4 different threads (2 being in the SAME FORUM) letting people know that Fresh Alloy was hacked? We do not need people abusing the server with a million posts that are naturally related. Nor do we need the putting down of other posts and serious inquiries by fellow members. Please people, clean up the behavior. Posting on G35driver.com is a privilege, not a right.
