Driving fast

True that, slow down, or at least realize how fragile everything is, remember this everytime you drive. Lost too many friends to this. One blown tire and peeeeeaaaace.

Re: Driving fast

Right on, Wick! Nothing is worth the risk with speeding. We all need to just let it go. None of us need to "prove" anything, to anyone, on the streets. We will all have our chances, and if the conditions are just right, our "G's" will prevail. In the meantime, stay safe!

Re: Driving fast

You guys are so so right, our G-coupe easily stimulate us to go fast. I have gotten into so many jams because I wanted to show how great our car is, but at the end it's just not worth it. Our car will prevail in the end. Peace.

Re: Driving fast

So true. I was making a right turn with a red light today as the cross traffic light turned green and a big raised pick uptruck (this is the epitome of what I hate on the road) guns it and gets behind me and honks at me. I got PISSED and then it proceeds to switch to the next lane and tries to pass me up. So I shift to 3rd and slam the gas. Gah that stupid guy almost ran over my G with his poor driving skill when I stopped at the next light. I had to move halfway into the street to avoid getting hit. It wasn't worth giving into road rage. I could have injured myself, car, and other ppl around me, and in hindsight its stupid to act the way I did.

Re: Driving fast

Dragoncoupe, I'm glad that you are O.K. I was involved in the same situation and I think I would rather be behind an A$$hole then in front of them while they are only millimeters from your kissing your rear bumper. There are just way to many "Bastards" out their, so be save.

Peace, and happy motoring.

Re: Driving fast

Mooser has a very valid point!!!!!
I am by no means a youngster anymore (52), but even I get tested from time to time by somebody with a firebird or camaro who thinks they have something to prove!!!!! I have in the past had some high performace cars (corvettes and such), and if I felt i had to show my capabilities or my cars performance I always did it in a safe enviroment I would meet them on wednesday night at raceway park in englishtown n.j.
there everybody can prove all they want and everybody is safe and a winner!!!! the streets are for cruising...the track is for proving!!!!!!!! 2old4this

Re: Driving fast

I wanted to add/edit my post but couldn't for some reason. All I wanted to add was, "Use your head, don't lose it." Because it's too late after you do, and possibly in more ways than one.

Re: Driving fast

I dunno why I am replying to this post. I dont race at all. I am paying top dollar for insurance. 2600 per 6 months. So I have been trying to control road rage. I leave for work an hour earlier just to beat traffic. Traffic is the number 1 cause of road rage I think.

I do tend to push the speed on my G when I find a nice open stretch of road.

I have 'floored' my car about 5 times. I wont do it anymore because I heard this can void the warranty. If it does then I feel thats just a load of dealer horsehsit because I thought these cars were built for this type of stuff. Anyway, like I said Im not a racer. I dont race other cars. I do enjoy driving fast though.

Be safe everyone.
