Balancing the 18s

Hey...I was contemplating doing a search but, since I'm late for my rehearsal dinner already, I just decided to go ahead and post--here's my issue:

Balancing is listed as regularly scheduled maintenace (according to my service manager), but it has been explained to me by several suspension mechanics that, on a road car, balancing is an "as necessary" item.

What have you guys heard??

Re: Balancing the 18s

You can ask them not to do so, but my understanding is that the tires may be off balance and you not may not always feel it.

If you've got the Pilots, then yea you need to get them checked out every now and then. They wear out too fast!
