All I'm going to add to this is that I drove a Saab for 12 years, and the only thing that ever broke on it was the air conditioner in years 8 and 10. My mother has a 5 year old Land Rover and never had a problem. Point being that if I can find a nigh bullet-proof Saab, I'm sure you can find a crapbox among any highly reputed make.

Oh, wait, I had a second thing to add: this autolocks and autolights stuff? I find that nutty. I would never use that stuff, and am glad I didn't have to pay for it. I get in car, I lock car. Can I see the road? Good. I mean, are there people out there who stomp on the pedals and wonder why they're not moving anywhere because the car doesn't automatically start its engine when their butts hit the seat? If they want to do automatic stuff, put in automatic turn signals. Not that I need them, but I sure would appreciate it if everyone else had them.

I have a Jeep Cherokee with about 220k miles on it with no problems. The 4.0L inline 6 and the auto tranny (same as the supra tranny) are bombproof. Before this forum I'm always on www.jeepsunlimited.com, with over 34,000 members it was tough to find any major problems. I don't baby my rig as well, back in college I usually go on offroad every other weekend and my jeep is still going strong. You can build a Jeep for less money and still be better in terms of offroad capability compared to the Land Rovers and the Hummer H1 (the H2 is just like a chevy tahoe).

i have had 5 jeeps, 2 wranglers, 2 grands and currently a 92 cherokee.

i drive the 92 every day to work, it has 164K on it and runs like a champ!

I love my g, the only complaint is the all the little issues but i have one of the first 03's and u always have issues with a first year car.

BLUE Am I reading the chart you posted correctly enough to say we can have the locks lock automatically after the car starts moving? Maybe I'm reading the engrish of the "Autolock" section wrong. What gives?
