6MT center armrest not closing
Re: 6MT center armrest not closing
Certainly.
The squeaks are the result of plastic on plastic strain where the latch lever contacts the pivoting uprights. The arm rest will need to be detached then cracked open (not literally
). Apply generous amount of silicone based lubricant (the thicker the better ... mine was of a paste consistency) at the latch hindges as well as all other contact surfaces. Don't be afraid to slap a blob of that stuff on there. Also concentrate on the pivoting uprights. Let it work in for a bit and that should do the trick.
Sorry, I do not have a digital camera for detailed illustrations

Re: 6MT center armrest not closing
Thanks for all the suggestions. The magnets in my armrest weren't aligned propertly, apparently, the hinge is made from some easily malleable metal. Any slight lateral movement of the armrest will distort the hinge to cause the magnets to not align properly. Everything is ok now.
