What is the difference between the Infiniti G35 coupe here and the Nissan Skyline?

Not much in coupe... same engine, same transmition, same everything... ( of cause the steering is on the right hand side, "skyline" badge at the end, Nissan badging, and no clock), no infiniti badge on the chair, and no compass... it's replaced by a digi clock

but in the sedan, that's different...
They got 2.5L engine, 3L engine, and 3.5L engine
they have 4 wheel drive in 2.5L engines
the 3.5L only gets 8-speed CVT... no auto, no 6-speed

How the heck is a CVT an 8-speed? I thought the whole point of a CVT was to be continuous, with an infinite gear range. Or is it a CVT in "D" and then fakes 8 gears in manual mode, similar to Audi's A4 3.0 CVT (though it's only 6 fake gears)?

yes, exactly dude, it simulates 8 gears when you put it in manumatic mode...it has paddle shifters mounted on the back of the steering wheel [img]/w3timages/icons/smile.gif[/img]
pretty neat!
I also heard that the japanese CVT version has more HP than the american version g35
