looking for upgrade suggestions for an 04 g35!

Im picking up my G35 in a week and looking for what's out there that'll make it perform better.. primary concerns are to keep each part under 1k, or even right around it.. this way i can pick up a few upgrades here and there as i move along and not have to toss out 2k+ on a single item

if you have a suggestion, please do leave a recommended brand, price i could probably get it for online (and link if u happen to have it so i can bookmark), and what it will help my lovely g35 do

much much thanks!!

oh, can i put 19's on an 04? it's either that or coil-overs, i was thinking.. feel free to tell me im an idiot ahha.. yes, im very new.. but im a dedicated infiniti owner

Upgrades for your '04 LR G.......

You have many choices but to keep your engine cover MotorDynes 5/16"
spacer is a better option. www.motordyneengineering.com
To further improve your G's ability to breathe order the Stillen intake with Z
tube. www.stillen.com
These two modifications will get you started in the right direction. Next step
would be to buy a cat-back system, that would complete that phase of the
motors breathability.........air in.....exhaust out!

You CAN put 20's on an 04 if you'd like.

Coilovers or 19's? Tough decision are you going for looks or some performance. and with that said what exactly does perform better mean? Is this going to be your track car so you need to grip in the turns with out losing 3 milliseconds and have 1 more torque point?

Just think about what you want. The way you are talking it seems like you want to win the "my pee-pee is bigger than yours contest" sitting around saying my car has these phat 19's with a plenum and cai so i can take your WRX any day now. These cars come nicely equipped from the factory. Id am inclined to say the tinkering you will do will give you a seat of your pants approval but nothing more.

And to answer your performance question if you have the money buy every little thing for the car. You are not going FI so everything else is in your reach. I put some 19" Work rims on my 03.5 just for looks and might grab a few other goodies. Why? Mainly b/c surfing this sight you see what others have done and if you have the money to blow why not do a few irrelevant mods.

The only reason i bought Works was b/c anything less i thought in my own head i was being cheap, and this entry level car doesnt need to be lowered in status

very good points

i think i kind of like a bit of everything.. even if its just a simple mod, either internal or external visual

im not particularly interested in getting some massive 200hp increase, i really want to just be able to work with it and learn as i go, so i cant do anything complex bc this is my first real car and not my parents

with that said, i do think i am more leaning towards the visuals

current ideas in mind
20% tints (possible fades if its not too $$)
spoiler/side skirts
motordyne spacers as posted above

ok ok, maybe like 80% visuals over performance power... great sound and looks is what i want to say "my peepee makes yours look like a toothpick... broken in half"

Welcome, soon to be G35 owner. I see that you have the modbug before even owning a G...that's dangerous. Let me know if you need anything. We can get you anything you need for your G35....

I thought about dropping it, but I'm not sure what to get.

What brand is good and reliable but also won't lower my car too much?
