i no most of u guys have gone crazy with ur g's and most of them ARENT stock, i was wondering what the fastest time for a g in the 1/4 mile would be for a near stock sedan or coupe. some guy ran 14.2 in an 04 tl. do u guys think that is fast? most of ur cars are probably faster, but can a stock g sedan/coupe better that time?

Re: fastest 1/4 mile

Coupe times considering good driver, track condition, etc.
14.0 - 14.2 manual
14.3 - 14.5 auto
Sedan times considering good driver, etc
14.1 - 14.2 manual
14.3 - 14.5 auto

Note: all cars stock with 1/4 tank of premium gas. If somebody number is above those I listed he/she needs to learn how to drive and practise on track with different rpm launch, tire psi, etc.

Re: fastest 1/4 mile
The new TL should be pretty close to a G35 stock vs stock. Maybe a tenth or two difference, but nothing major. If you had a range for the TL, just like the G35 numbers listed above I'm sure they'd probably overlap quite a bit.

Re: fastest 1/4 mile
I ran a best of 14.08@101.7mph(2.14 60') with just an ecu reset, 25 psi in the rear tires/40psi front, no spare, no passager seat...in almost perfect conditions with only 6500km on the car.

I'm sure that with 20 000km on the car and excellent conditions it could do 13.999.

Re: fastest 1/4 mile
manual-->6MT

dmac: Do you have a link for the guy that did 14.2 with his TL? I find it impressive since that car has less tork and less hp than the coupe.

Re: fastest 1/4 mile
Kahboom,

I've seen one guy ran 6MT sedan stock (removed spare/tools with 1/4 tank 93 octane gas) at Great Lakes Dragaway track 14.163 on BFGoodrich g-Force T/A KD (245/40/18) with 27psi. When I asked he said he was stock with 3800 miles on it.

Other times:
Sedan members here ran stock the following:
3point5SE_Auto - 6MT sedan 14.28
BobbyD - 6MT sedan 14.33 @ 98.62 (600' above sea level)
normjack - auto sedan 14.35 with K&N Air Filter replacement only

Magazine times typically run 14.6 for auto sedan with full tank of regular gas, attached equipment and nothing removed. People running on the track getting usually better results due to higher octane gas with less then 1/2 tank, weight reduction and good launch.

Car and Driver by the way showed Infiniti G35 sedan 6MT running 14.2 sec @ 99 mph
