thanks for all the replies first of all, when the box came, I only opened 2 of them, and they all look perfectly fine, so I was so pump and took them to wheel shop right the way, I left my car there. and hour later, I came back, and one guy came to me and told me that one of the wheel is damaged ( as the pic shown) and yes, they only put it on to show me, they were tighten at all. I asked them if they dropped it at all, obviously no one said they did. then the box arrived, it looked fine from outside. anyways, the wheel has sent to a shop to get it fix already, I'm tired of dealing with all this crap. but I'll give UPS a call just to see what they can do.

thanks
Derek

so if the "boxes" look fine.. I doubt UPS had anything to do with it. Unless UPS is some kind Magician. We're UPS, we can bend the *** out of your wheels w/o damaging the box thats holding it.

and make sure they "fix" your wheel correctly. i mean, once anything metal bends, the integrity of the metal isn't the same. they become weaker especially when u bend it back into place.

most rim repair shop heat treat the rim in an oven for a couple hours b4 and after the repair.

I wouldn't care how it was damaged, be it me dropping it, UPS, or the Wheel shop...... I would not put that on my car.....I would demand a new rim, or the money, and buy another.....Don't jepordize the integrity of your car or your life with that POS.

Another poster made a valid assumption....if the wheel bent not being under load, whats going to happen when you hit a nice pothole?
Sorry, not trying to be a D1ck.......just being honest. Maybe consider another wheel brand.....

I bet the shop did it. You should've checked out all 4 wheels before taking them to the shop.

well a friend of mine has the same wheel, and there are lots constructions and potholes where he lives, and he hit couple of them before, nothing happened to the wheel. and ya, i should have check all 4 of them. even if i point my figure at the shop, all they gonna do is try to blame the shipping company( if the shop actually did it).
it's a mess....

I have had some horrible experiences with UPS. When you call and "attempt" to make a claim they are going to tell you that you have no say in the matter. The claim will be up to the shipper since they are the ones that did business with UPS. You have absolutely no say in the matter. If the boxes were not packed correctly UPS will not cover (shouldn't UPS make sure packages are packed correctly before they ship??!?!?!?).

I had an experience where I ordered a Long Travel front-end for my mx quad. The front end cost me 2K. UPS dropped off the package in my house while I was at work. When I get home I open the package and notice one of the shocks is missing!! I almost lost it. One shock costs $750. I called the shipper and told him the problem. He assured me he shipped both shocks along with everything else. When I inspect the box I see one of the sides was taped up. It was obvious the box had broken and the shock had fallen out. After the shipper filed the claim UPS came to my house and inspected the box. They then determined the box did not meet their standards therefore they were not responsible? Why would they ship a box that they later determine was sub-par? Well me and the shipper split the cost of the shock, I was one pissed off m@therf@cker!!

Ok pretty simple you need all the boxes back. What you are looking for is basically a cut line going through the side( if they used factory boxes). UPS doesn't care about pictures digital or otherwise. Timeline if you get within a week to 10 days should be ok. Best and safest way to ship rims is premounted, they go through UPS on irreg tugs not on belts.

The seller was clearly to blame on this one.

i used to have a set of j5 and those wheels are strong. trust me!

if ups did that the box should have been pretty messed up

i blame the shipper for not packing it right.

when i got my dpe's it took me like 10min to get all the different protective layers for each wheels

I would throw out the rim too...

I wouldn't mind waiting and saving up more money for a new rim if that's the case. Someone said something about metal being weaker after getting it "repaired" and I totally agree with that.

They're going to be 99% perfect at the most and that 1% will get to you in a matter of time. I'm sure the ride will be annoying since it'll be pretty much unbalanced.

If I were you, I'd just consider it as a bad day and just order a new rim and forget about dealing with the shop and UPS. I think it'll be less stress and pain.

True, but they had no problem taking the package as well as insuring it. So I could ship contraband or narcotics via UPS! They are not going to check the package so what's it matter? As a business if you are going to take my money to ship a package and then drop it off the truck, break the box and or damage the goods and then tell me the box was not properly packed I'm going to call b.s.. But no one said life was fair.

Only shipper can claim UPS, either you return all 4 back to the seller and get your money back and order it again from others or have the same seller to send you new sets or have the same seller do the UPS call tag. Only shipper can claim UPS so let the seller deals with UPS. You just need to know what you want, either keep the rims and wait for partial refound for repairment or get the full refound and buy new sets.
