UPS damaged my rim...what's next?
ok got the rims today, and found out one of them are bent on the lips, i wouldn't say it's really bad, but it's bad. I'm so eager to put this set on, so i decided to tell the shop to sent out for repair. what should i do with UPS? should I just show the pics of the damage rim, and show them how much it cost me to repair the rims and ask UPS to pay me back?
suggestions are needed and appreciated
here are some pics to entertain you guys

if you didn't insure the package then UPS will not do anything. and how damage was the box that rim was in?
if a rim would bend like that during 'normal' shipping, i would not put that POS on my car.
and why the hell is the rim mounted on the car? u sure UPS did it? look like u mounted it on the car, and lowered the car to see how it looked and bent it urself.

there's some default coverage included in every shipment i believe. it should be enough to help cover the straightening i think (unless the shop is trying to rip you a new one).
call UPS, file the claim.

It takes a good amount of force to get it to bend like that, If it's not you, it might the place that sold you the wheels. UPS might be innocent this time, but because of the their reputation, someone can easily point the finger to them and get away with it.
You might have a hard time getting a claim from UPS if you did not contact them right away and if the rim is on the car. They would want to see how it was packaged etc. If anything ever gets damaged in shipment don't use it until the claim is complete. No matter how much you want to see what it looks like..
I had the same problem with UPS...2 out of the 4 wheels came in damaged (bent). My wheels also had rolled lips like that and those are not easily fixed as they will always have a slight flat spot on them. I sent them back to the vendor and got my money back since they shipped them on their account with UPS, they dealt with those idiots.
But I still don't get it...was the shop so stupid to mount them and lower the car and damaged the wheels? or were they damaged by UPS when they arrived?
FYI, if UPS or the vendor see any evidence that they were mounted on the car, they can easily deny your claim. I hope you kept the boxes and signed the UPS receipt "damaged box" or something.

Wow verbal, live up to your name much, take a breather and go sit this one out for a while.....
So anyway,he does have a point,if it was damaged during shipping you should've had ups come look at it right away. If you put it on your car they will say it obviously wasn't damaged enough to where you wouldn't put it on your car. So I would've held off on that, but I'd make sure you show them all the pictures. Hopefully you took some right away out of the box, and hopefully they will cover it. They may not now that it's on the car.

guys look at the picture more closely. He didn't put it on the car all the way it's probably on there so you could see it good in the pic. There is only one lug nut on there and it's not even on tight. It's not like he put all of them on there and tightened them.
Here are the problems from my experience shipping wheels...
#1 - Must file a claim ASAP. At best, let the UPS driver know that they were damaged upon delivery and they mark the item as damaged and let UPS know that a damage claim is on the way...
#2 - UPS has specific packaging guidelines for shipping items. There must be a certain amount of packaging material around the item and shipped in a corrugated shipping box. (For those who have gotten wheels like those, they are packaged for FREIGHT not SHIPPING. They are in a box with another piece of cardboard over the face of the wheel).
good luck with everything... I hope it comes out in your favor...
Did you notice that they were bent when you first opend the box? That looks like a bend that would be noticed to me...
