Sure no problem. I noticed that a long time ago and kinda put two and two together but I've played around with it before and it's ALWAYS only done this under the circumstances noted above.

just curious...y are you turning off the car before u come to a complete stop? Are you in that big of a hurry?

Maybe its when you're trying to ditch the car and run from the cops, but at that point I'd think opening the trunk later isn't something to worry about.

LOL i'm always in a hurry. But i dunno is so wierd that i would just turn it off when i come a second before it stops. I mean from all the reports I hear a lot of people must being doing it because that's pretty much the only way the car wouldn't let you pop your trunk. I guess if you're driving an auto than of course you wouldn't do such a thing but it's a 6mt so I doesn't bother me.

I think that is fairly common for drivers of manual cars...

Funny that I only really noticed it at home, but it makes sense because that is where I would usually feel more comfortable doing that. I just pull straight in to my drive and that last inch or two ends up being a coasting to a stop - Keys already in hand.
