04 5AT......40,000 miles
Drivers side window motor replaced at 18,000 miles
Both Headlight assemblies replaced due to crack in reflector (dealer tried to blame my MTEC's, said they were too hot)
Throttle body replaced...apparently for no reason...wasn't having any problems with acceleration.....
Drivers seat bottom cushion and leather replaced due to collapsing foam part
Gas tank TSB

Other than the minor squeaks rattles that come and go with the seasons, I have no real complaints......all the problems were minor, and none of them caused the car to be left at the dealer longer than a couple of hours...in which case I always was given a loaner....

I think this thread demostrates my point perfectly.

The majority of the responses are from those that HAVE had problems, yet the votes show that only 18% of the respondents actually DO have problems.

That means that, so far, 82% of us have had an overall great ownership experience, mechanically, with our cars.

how about you just ask people on the road who are driving a G and see what problems they have. You do realize a car forum is differnt than the entire population

Yes, I do realize that a car forum is not a representative sample of the population as a whole. However, I stated at the beginning of this thread that I was referring to folks who read (on the forums) about all of the problems it seems like we have and are lead to believe that these cars are POSs. I also provided evidence with the poll that people do not post anything to tell us that their car is not having problems with it; they only post when they need advice on an issue. Imagine how many threads would be out there stating "my car ran perfectly today!" or "no problems in 10,000 miles". We only see the posts about problems.

05 6MT Coupe 24000 miles, no problem so far. Some road noise but o well. Only thing that is wrong at this moment is uneven wearing of the tires. The right rear tire is wearing out faster than left side. Other than that I love my G.

04 w/mods, 5AT......42,000 miles.
Passanger side window motor replaced at 32,000 miles.
Gas tank TSB.
Slight roar of tires at 18mph, had aligned, but it seems par for this type of car. Been checked by dealer and everything is tight.

I had over 30 cars and 7 Harleys, this is the second best vehicle I have ever owned, the absolute best was an 84 Skyline while I was in Okinawa.

05 coupe

Had it for 2 years almost
got 43k on it
Problems I had
1 Clicking in the rear axle
2 HID control module burned out and took my bulb with it
3 Had one of the headlights replaced cuz it started to fog inside (I lost the O ring shhhhhhhh don't tell my dealer that)
4 Throttle body was replaced
5 keep on running out of fuel. I'm tired of stopping at the gas stations.
6 Uses too much wax and other shining materials
7 Makes me horny everytime It's starts up. (Cant turn my steering wheel)
8 Creates problems in my family cuz my wife thinks I'm cheating on her with a G
9 Hight water bills from all the washes she's getting
I think that's it.

So as you can see Fvcking car is a LEMON Dont buy them. Get yo self a reliable civic and meet me at the track.

Let's put your reliable **** against my unreliable sex machine and race for pink slips.

Seatbelts replaced twice (on driver side).

AC compressor replaced
Both window motors replaced (driver side twice).
Bose radio replaced (I think the dealership lied on this one).
Paint on spoiler and side windows are poop (dealership fault...over polished).

Even after all of the problems still would not trade her in (unless for a M45)!! Love the G!!

I think this is flawed. A LOT of people are having HUGE problems, but just don't see them as huge. I expect a $30,000+ car to be a little more reliable.. I also expect a car company to do the R&D on an engine so it doesn't run out of oil in the first 3000 miles. I guess I just expect too much..
I suspect many of the people that LOVE their G35 feel American cars suck, even though I've NEVER had a problem with any of my American cars.
I, personally, feel like these cars are glorified Altimas and aren't worth nearly as much as I paid for mine. This is why I've retained a lawyer and plan to get my money back. they're just not well made cars.
Rattles shouldn't happen, my truck has 90k no rattles, transmissions shouldn't burn up.. Syncho's shouldn't go, excess vibrations, oil consumption, paint peeling, and all of the other problems listed just shoudln't happen in the first 100,000 miles.. .. really more like the first 150,000 miles
did you know Chrysler just announced an UNLIMITED mile powertrain warranty.. that's because they build a product the stand behind.. not like Nissan.. They'll tell you that oil consumption is unheard of on these cars..

Oil consumption - major issue
Drivers window motor recalibrated when you open door (window wouldn't go down a little when opening door) - minor issue
Map light burned out - minor issue

My only gripe is I got one of these rev-up VQ oil burners.
Other than that, no problems and I love my G.

-edit- Lip two posts down reminded me about the detonation thing...me too only on hot days though.
