My car hasn't had any serious problems
#46
05 G35x-22k Sold- No problems.
06 6mt - 11k-Knocking on wood.
Probably the first car that I really like and don't think about selling very often.
It's not perfect. It detonates a little bit on California gas. I just drive her a bit easier on certain tanks of gas. The mileage is pretty sorry. Oil consumption is no worse than my 30valve was.
Other than that, the car has been good. It's not German, that's for sure (good and bad) The car is fun to drive, quick enough for a daily. The tires are still decent, that one surprised my service guy !
Maybe I'm just getting more mature, I don't beat the **** out of it like I once might have.
I've broken trannys, dicked around with chips and fried the electricals, 5000 mile sets of tires to know to go a bit easier I guess. Maybe I'm just smoother in my old age, since I don't exactly baby the thing.
To me, a G35 is the Japanese interpretation of a Mustang. I like the character offered up here. And damn if this thing hasn't had any down time, see line 1.
I'm a picky sob too.
I agree, what happened to your rig sucks. And just because I have yet to experience the same pain(on this car), that in no way justifies anything.
I digress, $30k ? You have to be way more gentle on cars costing twice as much. Go check out the Ferrari or Porsche dealer. It's hard to believe that at 3k miles you might need a new tranny. An F430 costs $200k+ imagine that shocker. BMW: My dad's 740 had almost every part replaced. My sisters Benz is a basket case. My buddy's Porsche requires a couple of grand a year.
Some American cars are decent. I almost bought a CTS-V(you should read those forums )
It happens. I agree, Infiniti should offer some guidance with respect to the oil issue. That's wrong. However, they did replace the motor, even after it was modded right?

I suspect many of the people that LOVE their G35 feel American cars suck, even though I've NEVER had a problem with any of my American cars.
I, personally, feel like these cars are glorified Altimas and aren't worth nearly as much as I paid for mine. This is why I've retained a lawyer and plan to get my money back. they're just not well made cars.
Rattles shouldn't happen, my truck has 90k no rattles, transmissions shouldn't burn up.. Syncho's shouldn't go, excess vibrations, oil consumption, paint peeling, and all of the other problems listed just shoudln't happen in the first 100,000 miles.. .. really more like the first 150,000 miles
did you know Chrysler just announced an UNLIMITED mile powertrain warranty.. that's because they build a product the stand behind.. not like Nissan.. They'll tell you that oil consumption is unheard of on these cars..

Rattles, rattles, and more rattles............Oh yeah..... my 04 with 24K loves tires. If there was a tire company dedicated exclusively to the G35 Coupe, they would have a booming business! Yes, the car is reliable with respect to it not being prone to leaving me stranded.
